Recent Widgets Bundle Update broke Page-Elements

Notice: This thread is over two years old; the information may be outdated. Please consider creating a new thread if you require free support. If you have an active SiteOrigin Premium license, you can email our premium support desk at [email protected].

I recently updated to Version 1.8.2 on my testinstaces and it breaks elements on the Page. For example the Hero-Widget isn’t displaying and other elements (e.g. Master Slider) isn’t diplayed as well.

Can you help me?

Best regards Simon

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Simon,

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

If that doesn’t help, Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

Hey Alex, thanks for the reply!I’m using 2012 as Theme. I did the updates on my testinstance that is a 100% copy of my live-page. What I found out is that a Autoptimize-function caused the hero problem (Option: Combine Inline JS untick). But still not everything works and after i updated the Pagebuilder as well the whole page is having problems. I don’t know where to start =(

Hey Alex thank you for the reply. Unfortunately the test instance can only be reached via password. But if there’s no other way i’m willing to offer temporary access here.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Simon,

Slider with red Elements and Numbers is missing
Is that this slider? If not, where is this slider meant to be? Sorry about this, I’m really not familiar with this website so I’m not too sure where everything is meant to be.

    Gravity
    inside the form-text

Big white space below the page before footer
Please open the widget that’s adding the gravity form and untick Automatically Add Paragraphs. How does that look?

    Woocommerce Frontpage:
That’s actually unrelated to the WB update. This is a semi-rare issue with the latest SiteOrigin Page Builder update. We’re still trying to work out what is causing this (which is proving to be difficult due to how few people are affected :() so I would recommend going back to the last version for the time being. You can do this by installing the WP Rollback plugin. Once installed, please navigate to WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins and find Page Builder by SiteOrigin. Click Rollback and then set the version to 2.4.25 and then restore it. Please ensure you clear any cache’s after doing this or the issues will remain regardless of the Page Builder version.

    Very sorry about this! :(

    Elements totally wrong displayed
This may be related to the previous one, but can you please elaborate? Sorry about this.

    Hey Steve,

So I tried what you said with the “Automatically add Parapraphs” and what to say it pretty much solved all my problems. The slider element returned, gravity stoped showing
and also the Woocommerce-Page works again.

Was this setting added in the recent Update or how can this Setting suddenly break all pages when it worked before? Can you fix this somehow or will I have to go trough all my pages and uncheck this settings?

Thank you again for the great support you offer!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Simon,

Hm. It wasn’t added in a recent update but in the last update we changed the order things were processed for the editor widget and based on the order, it makes sense why this issue happened. :(

I’m going to log this as a bug and this will be fixed in the next update. Very sorry about this!

    Hey Alex,

i tried again the recent updates of Pagebuilder at first on my Stage (as posted before).

After updating PageBuilder almost everything worked fine. Just my Woocommerce Front-Page had problems.

Background-Color of streched Rows is not displayed and Buttons on the Bottom of the Page are squashed.

I’m overriding the Woocommerce Shoppage with the code below using a normal page created with Pagebuilder. If I display the acutal page (not loaded by the script above as Woocommerce Front Page) everything works. So can this script case issues?

    **Widget Bundle**

Updating the Widget Bundle to 1.8.4 the “Automatically Add Paragraphs”-Problem returned, the Hero-Widgets disapeared and the Feartures Widget is showing wrong cirles.

Thank you again and best regards from Germany

    Simon

Code below? Did you attach something to your reply? If so, can you please try sending me a Pastebin as we’re currently unable to process file attachments. Actually, can you clarify what page your shop page is?

Background-Color of streched Rows is not displayed
Can you please link me to a page where I can see this?

Buttons on the Bottom of the Page are squashed.
Are these the buttons? If so, they appear correct to me. Can you please elaborate on what’s wrong with them? Sorry, I may be missing something obvious but when I compare it to the main site I don’t see a difference. :(

Updating the Widget Bundle to 1.8.4 the “Automatically Add Paragraphs”-Problem returned, the Hero-Widgets disapeared and the Feartures Widget is showing wrong cirles.
I seem to see both without issue. Did you find a resolution to this, and if not, are you still seeing these issues? Maybe try clearing your browser cache if you are.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Simon,

That… I’m honestly surprised that works and seriously don’t recommend using it. Regardless, I can’t seem to replicate this issue locally with a copy of your layout. Does it issue occur when it’s applied to a standard page rather than this setup.

  14. 8 years, 2 months ago Simon Nowotny

    Hey Alex,

that’s what i tried to say before. It works when it is applied to a standard page. So this custome code/setup must cause the problem I guess.

It works quite good for over a year now. But if you can’t recommend this setup, do you know another way to reach the same goal – that is using a page build with pagebuilder as the Woocommerce Front Page?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Simon,

Honestly, I would create a separate unconnected page to WooCommerce and just use that. Then, consider just redirecting the shop page to the custom page. It’s not as ideal but it’s a little less… well, it’s cleaner.

  16. 8 years, 2 months ago Simon Nowotny

    Hey Alex,

i got that fixed with an redirect. Thank you for the advice! But back to the “Automatically Add Paragraph”- Problem. Will you be able to fix that problem soon? Otherwise I’ll have to revise all my pages.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Simon,

The Automatically add paragraph issue is planned to be resolved in an upcoming update – I sadly can’t provide any sort of ETA on this type of thing.

  18. 8 years, 1 month ago Simon Nowotny

    Hey Alex,

unfortunately the “automatically add paragraph” problem still remains in Version 1.9.1 Any new input when you will be able to fix this problem?

  19. 8 years, 1 month ago Simon Nowotny

    Hey Alex,

worked now. I forgot to delete the cache after updating!

    Thank you very much!
