Hi Rafał
On your Dashboard please go to Posts. Select a particular post and on the top right corner there is a drop down menu labelled Screen options. Ensure that you have Excerpt checked there. Now you can scroll down and add your Excerpt to the blog of your choice
I hope that helps
Cheers
Hello,
this one didnt work. Still I can`t see any link like “Read More”, […] or Continue Reading.

Hi Rafał
Apologies for the delay here.
Under Appearance > Theme Settings > Blog > Post Content you can choose either Full Content or Excerpt.
Full Content
Select this option if you want to use the ‘more’ tag. Once that option is selected, go to a post and insert a more tag, here is how:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
Excerpt
Select this option if you want to use an excerpt with no read more. The excerpt will be auto generated. To replace it with a manual excerpt follow Addo’s initial advice.
Hope that clears things up.
Hi,
I have checked “post excerpt” and there is no auto excerpt. Default in excerpt is […] but i font have it.
To get the read more working you’ll need to:
1. Appearance > Theme settings > Blog set Post Content to Full Content.
2. On each post you’ll need to set a more tag:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
There is no read more button available when using the excerpt.
Hope that helps.
Hello still dont see any “read more” or […].
I used page-builder now and post loop widget. I should get result as below:

Thanks. I’m with you now. The Post Loop (PB) on your home page is using the Grid Loop, that loop unfortunately doesn’t support the read more tag, only the Excerpt field. To get the more tag working you’d need to deploy the regular Blog loop.
Hey,
I will try to change it now.

Ok I see it. But it wasnt a plan. I need to have grid view with 2 colums.
At other site I saw that they have […] added automatic.

Is there any other way to have grid view and 'continue reading'?

Take a look now. I set Appearance > Theme Settings > Blog > Post Content to Excerpt, you’re now getting [ ] . Just go to Custom CSS and remove the height you have set there, that’s why you can’t see the full excerpt.
Deleting Custom CSS…it really depends on what you’ve done there. Hard to say. You’d need to test.
Hey,
I removed that but now text is cutted

It does show for some posts, for example:
Aktualizacja Gry – 22 Stycznia 2015
Look at that post.
Let me check what’s going on.
Ok got it narrowed down. It’s a length issue. I added some dummy text to this post here:
http://polishthehunter.pl/aktualizacja-gry-12-luty-2015/
If you look on the home page, locate the Aktualizacja Gry – 12 Luty 2015 post. Before there was no excerpt end, now there is.
Let me know if you aren’t online to see this and I’ll remove the dummy text.
Hey! Okey! Now its briliant! Now for clearness – when Ive got list or
"read more tag" this will not show?

If the post isn’t long enough, this will not be added: […]. It’s fine to have a tag. That won’t be looked for in the current layout.
Here is a quick overview that might help:
The relationship between the Manual Excerpt, Automatic Excerpt, and Teaser is this: When a post has no manual excerpt and the post template uses the the_excerpt() tag, WordPress automatically generates an excerpt by selecting the first 55 words of the post followed by the unlinked ellipsis “[…]”. When the post template uses the the_content() tag, WordPress will look for the More tag and create a teaser from the content that precedes the More tag.
In WordPress, the_excerpt() template tag displays the excerpt of the current post with an un-linked ´[…]´ at the end. If you do not provide a manually written excerpt to a post, it will display an automatic excerpt which by default refers to the first 55 words of the post´s content. Also in the latter case, HTML tags and graphics are stripped from the excerpt´s content.

And one more question, how can I change excerpt length?

forum+9191-u18442-8d1ddbd7726c2cb37aafeb60fbef52e59e0b1e64@siteorigin.com>:
If you use a child theme you can filter the excerpt length by adding the following to a functions.php in the child theme:
Change 20 to the length you require.
If needs be here is a child theme to start with: https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/vantage-child-vanilla-enqueue.zip
I never used child themes, I have to link this or just upload?

forum+9191-u18442-8d1ddbd7726c2cb37aafeb60fbef52e59e0b1e64@siteorigin.com>:
The ZIP I linked to can be installed from Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme.
Activating a child theme will cause menu and Customizer settings to reset. They need to be redone in the child theme.
First handle your excerpt solution before redoing those settings.
Care must be taken when editing functions.php in the child theme. You can add the code I provided via Appearance > Editor once the child theme has been activated.
Ok,
thanks. Will work with this now. If I will find some hard-nuts can I contact with you tomorrow?

No problem at all. If you run into problems just update the thread here, I’ll be with you as soon as possible.
If for any reason you land up with a white screen and no WordPress access, just delete the folder ‘vantage-child’ from /wp-content/themes/. WordPress will then revert back to the parent theme. This can be done via FTP or hosting file manager. Just in case a problem arises from editing the functions.php file in the child theme.
Okey! Thanks for info.
Thank you and have a nice evening.

here is my child theme.

We unfortunately aren’t able to accept attachments via email coming into the forum. Sorry about that. Either try the method I outlined above:

Hi Andrew,
is it possible to show date in "post loop" with Blog/Blog Loop options?

As part of our Google Authorship integration efforts we added a post date to pages. We then hid that with CSS. The problem is that this didn’t take into account the Post Loop widget being deployed on pages. The CSS I sent sorts that out and will included in the next version.
There was also a setting introduced recently to hide all post meta. You can find that at Appearance > Theme Settings > Blog > Post Metadata. Please ensure that setting is enabled.

Are you asking about the loop on the home page? The grid loop unfortunately doesn’t support the date at the moment.
Oh, didn't know that.
Yes I am asking about loop at the home page (page builder). Is it even possible to show date?

It’s unfortunately not possible to show the date in the grid layout at the moment. It’s something you could perhaps achieve with a child theme and custom development. It’s unfortunately a little more than we’re able to assist with at the moment. I have marked this as a feature request.
