Questions about PageBuilder, WPML and Xliff files

I have a site that uses pagebuilder and widgets that I need to send to a translation company as xliff via WPML. I have panel_data set to translate and can export an xliff file. Problem I’m having is that when I reimport the file, portions of the layout (usually the layout builder widget) gets lost, and the content only shows the word html as opposed to the actual content.

First question is, can I even use this process of translation or does it not work?
Second question is, if this is supposed to work, what is the correct settings/process to export xliff files for translation so it retains content and layout?
Third question, is this a WPML issue or a combination of Pagebuilder and WPML?

Thanks,
Klaus

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Klaus,

First question is, can I even use this process of translation or does it not work?

This direct method you’re using, no. If the translation method you were using supported serialized data than yes, this would be possible. In other words, simply exporting panels_data won’t work as the data needs to be exported using PHP.

Third question, is this a WPML issue or a combination of Pagebuilder and WPML?

Neither. The issue here is how you’re editing the data.
