problems with vantage

By Rbk A, 5 years ago. Last reply by Alex S, 5 years ago.

I’m having too many problems with the vantage template. I used it without problems but for some months it has not stopped giving me problems and I do not know how to solve it. I do not want to change the template because I like it a lot. I’m going to list all the inconveniences I’m having so they can help me find a solution.
1- before I used jetpack but you could not see the images of the blog, so I decided to uninstall it so that it does not affect vantage and the images reappeared.
2- when sharing articles of my blog by copying the link to facebook, the images can not be seen, instead a gray image appears. It does not matter if they are old articles that were previously seen on facebook
3- The last thing that happens to me is that I have installed the google analytics plugin and before the statistics appeared at the beginning. but yesterday I fixed myself and nothing appears to me, even though I have the plugin installed
I would like to solve it because I do not want to stop using your template, I am very happy with everything, but unfortunately these problems prevent me from working normally. thank you very much for your attention

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rbk,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues.

    1. Do the images disappear again after enabling Jetpack? If so, do the images reappear after temporarily changing the theme?

We haven’t received any other reports of this issue. I have Jetpack installed (and configured) on a test site and the images are appearing without issue for me. The above test will confirm if this issue is related to Vantage or not.

    2. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    3. Can you please elaborate further on the issue you’re facing? Are you unable to access information prior to installation? Is this issue present purely in the Google Analytics plugin you’re using or is it also affecting Google Analytics directly?

Also, can you please clarify what Google Analytics plugin you’re using?

1- My problem with jetpack is not now. I had it a few months ago. I installed jetpack and the images of the blog were not visible, I deactivated it and they saw each other again. so I uninstalled jetpack so that I would not have any problems

    2-My site is http://www.aprendiendodelmaestro.com

3-reviewing the site completely, note that the problem of google analytics was my mistake, not clicking on the screen options of the desktop of my site. I’m sorry about that. already solved. at least that part.

4- I will explain as best as possible the problems that the template is giving me: it does not allow me to edit the images that I upload to media, to illustrate my post. when clicking “edit” the screen remains blank and does nothing. so I must leave the images as they are since I can not even cut them.

with respect to facebook, the links that I copy in groups, pages or my personal wall, appear but when showing the photographs, they are seen with a gray box

I have used the facebook debugger and it tells me the following warning Unknown properties specified The following properties are specified in the web page, but are not supported for the value of “og: type” specified: article: publisher, article: tag, article: section, article: published_time, article: modified_time

Removing everything that I mentioned previously. It has always worked wonders. and I regret that it is not working as before, I could share content with facebook and all the images looked.

I would appreciate if you could guide me to solve what maybe, I’m doing wrong. sorry if my text is not understood in certain parts, but I’m using the google translator since I speak in spanish. thank you very much for your help

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rbk,

    2. Thanks. That image you’re seeing is when Facebook doesn’t have a valid image it can use. Vantage isn’t handling this (as that falls into the realm of plugins – WordPress requires a clear separation between the two) on your website, Yoast is. Please refer to follow page for instructions on setting an image:

Why Doesn’t Facebook Display An Image? – Yoast

    4.

it does not allow me to edit the images that I upload to media, to illustrate my post. when clicking “edit” the screen remains blank and does nothing. so I must leave the images as they are since I can not even cut them.

    I’m unable to replicate this.
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

I have used the facebook debugger and it tells me the following warning Unknown properties specified The following properties are specified in the web page, but are not supported for the value of “og: type” specified: article: publisher, article: tag, article: section, article: published_time, article: modified_time

Vantage isn’t outputting any open graph tags. You’ll need to reach out to Yoast about that as that’s what is outputting them.

I regret the delay of my answers

I still can not find the fault, I still have problems when installing jetpack and I finish uninstalling it, because the images disappear when it is active.
Change the template to see if it was a vantage error and the jetpack error continued. (images were not shown)

I started to assume that it was a template problem because every time I want to install the widgets widget I got an error. but I already solve it by removing the folder on my site and reinstalling

the only thing I have left is to replace Yoast SEO and see what happens. since I do not know what else to do

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rbk,

No worries on the delay mate.
I would reach out to Jetpack about the issue you’re having as they should be able to help you with this issue.

Regarding Yoast SEO, can you please elaborate on the issues you’re specifically facing?

  6. 5 years, 9 months ago Rbk A

The problem I have with Yoast SEO is with open graph, that’s why when I share my articles on facebook, the images are not shared. I have checked the plugin settings and the open graph metadata are activated, so I do not know what the problem is. I plan to change plugin but it means losing all my settings and perhaps the positioning of my articles, for making such a big change, but honestly I do not know what to do to fix it once and for all.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rbk,

Unfortunately, it’s not something we’re able to directly assist with. I can, however, state that the image on the previously linked page (your home page) is set up to use a missing image so you should try changing the image.

  8. 5 years, 8 months ago Rbk A

Change Yoast for another plugin and the result was the same, do not share the images. The last thing I have left to do is restructure each of the images placed on my blog one by one. If the result is the same, I give up, I do not know what else to do. But I thank you for your help.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rbk,

It doesn’t directly matter what SEO plugin you use if the image they’re set up to use is still the same image. The image set (for example) your home page is https://www.aprendiendodelmaestro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Aprendiendo-del-maestro.jpg. This isn’t a valid image and to resolve this issue, you’ll need to update your home pages featured image and select a valid image.
