When the Page Builder widget is placed in the footer both the Site Origin Editor and the Visual Editor malfunction. I can’t type into either of them. I have the same problem with the editors when I try to edit the home page from the “Edit Home Page” but if I go to “Edit as Page” they work just fine.
Can you help me fix this? The footer problem is the most important as there is a way to work around the home page issue.
Hi Robert.
This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Hi Alex,
Sorry for the delay in responding, I was in a rush to get a first draft of a website for a mayoral candidate completed so didn’t have the time to trouble shoot. You were right it was a conflict with a plugin that was causing the problems. It was “Content Cards” https://wordpress.org/plugins/content-cards/.
It hasn’t been updated in a a year but unfortunately I haven’t been able to find another that does the same thing, which is surprising, I would think that functionality would be more in demand. if you know of another one please let me know.
