Problems uploading from localhost to live server

Hi, this is just a shot in the dark as this may all be down to server side issues, but I’ve had a devil of a time transferring my localhost site to the live server. I chose the Vantage theme and paid for the premium upgrade to make use of the great features of PageBuilder.
After finally getting my site onto the server pretty much everything seems to be there but not in the position that I designed it locally. I assumed that reinstating the Premium upgrade code on the live wordpress dashboard might solve the problem but it hasn’t.
I have considered the lengthy option of totally recreating the site on the live server but the problem here is that although I can see the wordpress site and the contents of the pages on my browser, when I got to the dashboard and open up, for instance, “homepage” there is nothing showing in the dashboard, the page building tab, if clicked, shows none of the rows and widgets that I created locally.
Which is curious as each of the pages is showing content when viewed but display nothing in the respective dashboard areas.
If you can offer any advice on where I am going wrong I’d be very grateful, I am a complete novice when it comes to stuff like this and it’s taken me over a week to finally get the site up onto the live server, which I know must sound ridiculous, but it’s an indication of my level of knowledge in this area.
I love the Vantage theme and the PageBuilder upgrade was the best money I’ve ever spent, it’s so versatile and enabled me to find workaround solutions for virtually every layout problem I encountered.
Many thanks
Mel

Please ignore this post, the problem has been completely resolved, turned out to be a “DB Character set” issue. Everything now works perfectly and is exactly as I designed it.
Thank you guys for creating such a great theme.
Hopefully you’ll never hear from me again, so you can consider this thread closed.

Hi Andrew thanks for your reply, everything is working perfectly now, just had to reset a few things in the Theme appearance which took seconds.
Its a really great theme and PageBuilder is perfect for me as it has given me the tools to skin endless cats in an endless variety of ways, none of which you probably ever intended them to be used for, but from my perspective it’s made building wordpress sites an absolute joy. So give yourselves a good pat on the back and let me know where you’d like me to write a glowing review.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks so much for your support and positive feedback. It’s most appreciated.

If you haven’t seen them yet, you might also like these products:

    Page: Widgets Bundle
    Page: SiteOrigin CSS Editor

We have another plugin on the way in the next week or two. Something to help content creation with Page Builder. Think Advanced Custom Fields but with Page Builder in mind.

    All the best :)

    Hi Andrew,
I think I’ve loaded the widgets-bundle, but the CSS editor looks very interesting. I’m definitely keeping an eye on future developments from Site Origin, the themes are “out of the box” useable, but the flexibility after that isn’t something one would normally use to describe WordPress.
As a reasonably intelligent complete idiot (average person), these tools are really powerful and, more importantly, commercially useful, so please keep up the good work and I look forward to what’s yet to come.
