Problem with borders around layout builder widget in the sidebar.

Hello.

I have a problem with borders that are supposed to go around a couple of widgets used in the side bar.

The widget is the Layout Builder. I put the following in the attribute section for the entire row:

 .sw1-cell-class{
border-width: 1px
border-style: solid
border-color: #c60a11
}

Instead of just around the row of the widget, the top and bottom borders form across the entire page. not just the side bar. The right and left borders form properly to the height of widget area.

The first Layout Builder widget contains the Site Origin Image widget and the Enhanced Text Widget. The second widget contain the Site Origin Image widget and the Visual Editor.

I can’t tell you if this will happen using another widget in the sidebar, but I suspect it will. I can’t mess with it too much because it’s a live site.

I think this started with the last upgrade of Page Builder, but I am not sure. The client called me today to complain the pages with the sidebar were messed up. The widget content was laying on top of the pages, the images all the way to the left and the top and bottom border lines spanning the whole page.

I deleted the widgets and Page Builder, reinstalled Page Builder and recreated the widgets. They are now correctly located in the side bar, but the borders still want to go around a whole section of the page.

I deleted and reinstalled because I noticed the Layout Builder widget was not among the list of widgets to use on the widgets page. It seems to have been dropped when updated.

I removed the above code in the attributes section so now the widget areas on the right are borderless, but if you need me to recreate, I can do that if needed.

Thanks for you help and sorry for the long explanation. I hope it makes sense.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dave

    Sorry we couldn’t get to you earlier. Any chance you could create a test page for us, clone the page you’re working on from the Prebuilt button in Page Builder and then display the problem? Add the code back basically. If we can see what’s happening I’m sure we’ll be able to fix quickly.

    Hi, Andrew and thanks for the reply.

    Please go to this page: http://www.nexustaxadvisors.com/default-page-test/ This seemed to happen after the last update to Vantage. I don’t think I have screwed up anywhere because I have more or less, left the site alone, only updating plugins and themes. Then again, you never know. :-)

    This is the only page using the default setting. Everything else is set up to full page with no title. You are, I believe, 7 hours ahead of me, and I will change the pages back to default in the morning. Seems people respond to the little ads on the side.

    Thanks for you assistance on this, really appreciate it. As I said, it’s not a fatal issue, but nice to know what’s wrong.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dave

    So sorry for the big delays in this thread. Things got away from me this week, I’m reeling them back in at the moment.

    In the latest update a new setting was introduced that should have been default OFF and was instead shipped as default ON. It’s at Appearance > Theme Settings > Layout > Force Full Width Rows. Can you check that tab and ensure the setting in question is disabled?

    (Thanks for your continued support, it’s thanks to users like yourself that we’re fortunate to have made several appearances on GoDaddy’s list. Appreciate it!)
