Problem: Page Builder Gui Not Showing and Rows and Widgets Gone

Not sure what I did or what happened, but when I edit my page it defaults to the Text tab and I only see the text/script of Page Builder (there are three tabs: Visual, Text, and Page Builder). When I click on the Page Builder tab, I get a message “Would you like to copy this editor’s content to Page Builder?”. If I say OK, I see the Page Builder GUI, but it only shows one row, and it’s empty. Please help as I can’t save/republish, afraid of losing all my work…

Thank you,

Ziad

So after some more digging, I found the problem: Another plugin was interfering, specifically in my case TinyMCE Advanced, Version 5.3.0.
After I disable it, it works again

    Hi ziadn

Thanks for the update, I’m glad to hear you’re making progress.

TinyMCE Advanced usually works without any issue with SiteOrigin plugins. If you wanted to re-visit the issue you could try testing with only SiteOrgin plugins and TinyMCE Advanced activated and see if the issue persists.

    Hello Andrew,

I was very surprised as well. I disabled several plugins and re-enabled them one by one and checked SiteOrigin, and it only broke when TinyMCE Advanced was enabled. I was surprised I’ve been using it for a long time,

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks. The final step to confirm the conflict is to deactivate all plugins except for SiteOrigin plugins and TinyMCE Advanced. It sounds like you might have had other plugins activated when you activated TinyMCE Advanced, which can lead to a multi-plugin conflict so it’s best to go back and test with only the plugins you’re trying to confirm are in conflict, in this example, ours and TinyMCE Advanced.

Correct Andrew. Sorry I didn’t express what I did correctly, but yes, I had every plugin disabled except one every time. Surprisingly it’s when TinyMCE Advanced was the only one enabled that I saw the problem. I’ll try again to reconfirm

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks. The final version of that test would be to also switch to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen, deactivate all except for SiteOrigin and TinyMCE Advanced and re-check.

I tried out TinyMCE Advanced on our Corp demo site and it seems ok there with a normal size list of other plugins installed https://imgur.com/a/6ofcwcX.

    Hello Andrew,

So I tried disabling and re-enabling it again, and it still negatively impacted SiteOrigin. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and now it works…
