Prioritize column Collapse over text wrap

Hello-

I have created a row with three columns, each containing the “SiteOrigin Editor” widget. When viewed on mobile, the text wraps and becomes awkward instead of the columns collapsing on top of each other. How do I prioritize the columns collapsing instead of there still being three columns?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Nicole

    Thanks for reaching out.

    Try editing the row in question, on the right in the Layout section, ensure that the Collapse Behaviour is set to Standard. If it is, go to SettingsPage BuilderLayout. There you can try increasing the Mobile Width.

    If the above doesn’t resolve the issue, please, send a link to the page.

    Hi Andrew-

    Thank you so much for getting back to me. I tried increasing the mobile view and it is still collapsing the same way. Here is the url: https://uw.org/our-donors/

    Hi, I Work Here

    For sure :)

    Thanks for the link.

    To confirm, the row’s Collapse Behaviour is set to Standard?

    Yup! They’re all set to standard

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks.

    If SettingsPage BuilderLayoutResponsive Layout is enabled then please, try a plugin conflict test outlined below to see if a working baseline can be established.

    This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try temporarily disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

    If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

    Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Andrew-

    Thank you so much for your ongoing help. Unfortunately disabling the plugins didn’t change the mobile collapse. I would prefer to keep using our custom theme. Is this a thing that can be fixed with css?

    Thanks again!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Nicole

    Thank for the update.

    Page Builder isn’t functioning normally so we ideally need to locate the cause rather than hotfixing. Please, could you upload the layout JSON file to wetranfer.com (no email address needed) and send the link to the file. You can download the page layout by editing in Page Builder, clicking LayoutsImport/ExportDownload Layout.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Thanks, in the row containing the widget containing the text Private Snippet, please, open the Attributes tab on the right and remove:

    /* Links */

    a:hover {
    	text-decoration: none;
    }

    CSS Styles, unfortunately, can’t render rules. Please, see my guide here: Thread: How do Page Builder row attributes work – row class, cell class and CSS styles.

    Please, also check the other rows, there are two other instances, I think, that are similar and need to be removed.

    Rules can go in the core field at CustomizeAdditional CSS or in a Custom CSS plugin at AppearanceCustom CSS. SiteOrigin CSS is a Custom CSS plugin.

    Finally, it’s really quick to give rows and if you want, widgets, custom labels. You can also change the background color of each row. This can make the page a bit easier to work on. Here is a blog post on those options: Post: 3 Features to help you Organize Page Builder Content.

    That did the trick! Thank you!! And I will absolutely use the ways to organize my content better! Thank you so much!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Super, glad to hear that helped. When you have a moment, perhaps check out my guide on using the Attributes tab, hopefully, it’ll all start to make sense.
