Post Loop Order By Random – Not Working In Browsers (Except MacBook Mozilla Browser)

Hello again!
I am using your Vantage Premium theme and learning all the time new things with it. Thanks for a great theme. But I seem to have every now and then different browser problems with it.

I am building a site (test site at the moment) and would really need to order my posts in random at a certain page. So I found out that it could quiet easily be done with your theme’s Post Loop widget.

The only problem is – it is not displaying posts at my site in random how it should with Safari, Chrome (Macbook) and also not working too in PC with all my browsers in it (Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla). I think it does not work also with Ipad and iphone..

My settings are as follows:
Post type: Articles
Post in: empty
Taxonomies: category:kiinteistonvalittajat
Order by: random
Post per page: empty
Additional: empty

Query returns 17 posts (as it should)

I would really like have this one running correctly – help please!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Petteri

I’m very glad to hear you’re enjoying Vantage.

My guess is this is related to browser cache. When the Post Loop widget displays posts at random, it changes the order of the posts in HTML. To save bandwidth, a lot of browsers wont reload the page on every single page load. Instead, they’ll keep a version of a page for a short while.

The solution is fairly complex though. You need to have a plugin that’ll send out a no caching header. This answer seems to be quite accurate.
