Post Loop not saving custom taxonomy after June 1 update

Hello,

I’m using the Vantage theme with the Site Origin’s Page Builder and Widgets Bundle plugins. On my home page, I am using multiple Post Loop widgets, all set to display different post categories. After the most recent update, Page Builder 2.5.4 and Site Origins Widgets Bundle 1.9.0, I noticed that all of my Post Loop widgets started displaying all articles in all categories.

When I went to look at the Posts Query tab in the widget, it had deleted the information in the ‘Taxonomies’ box. I can manually reset it to the correct selection of categories. (that is, if I click on the box, I can select something; “category:staff-articles”, for instance). It will temporarily show the correct number of articles (while still in the Post Loop editing box). The changes will be preserved when I click “done” — until I go and click ‘Save Home Page’; at which point all changes are erased, and the home page will again display all posts in all categories in each widget.

Is this a plugin issue or a theme issue? The issue only came up after updating the plugins today.

Thanks for any assistance

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Brian,

Unfortunately, this appears to be an issue related to the recent post loop update. We’ll get this fixed in the next update. In the meantime, you’ll need to roll back to the previous version of SiteOrigin Page Builder and SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle to specify a specific post type. The easiest way to do this is to use WP Rollback. Once installed please navigate to WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins and find Page Builder by SiteOrigin and click rollback. Restore to 2.5.3. Then please navigate back to the installed plugins list and find SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and click rollback. Restore to 1.8.6.
