If anyone has similar experience. The most recent update has borked Post Loop on my install.
2.10.12 – 4 November 2019
Resolve issue caused by locate_template preventing plugins from adding Post Loop templates.
Unfortunately, the only result that it now returns is its own page wherever the Loop is enabled.
I had three different post loops all working fine, pulling a selection of posts from the category but by keyword. Now I have three loops all displaying the same page, the page that the post loops are on. ie. the loop is only self-referential.
Any chance of a fix?
Hi Kenneth
Please, could we log in and take a look? If that’s ok, instructions below.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
Private Snippet
Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and Private Snippet for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.
Unfortunately either your email address is "Private Snippet" or your system is blocking the email address! So I cannot add you with the address you asked me for. However, I created a post that shows exactly the problem…

You'll see the problem right there.
Thanks. The snippet is viewable on the forum itself.
Thanks for getting back to me so fast. I was able to resolve the issue by downgrading to the previous version of Site Origin.
Doing so immediately fixed the issue. Appreciate your feedback on the problem!
Thanks. I’ll test with your theme, at least the free version if there is one and come back to you. I’m able to create a loop using content.php and filter by a category using one of our themes.
Quick answer. I set up the latest version of the standard wordpress
Quick answer. I set up the latest version of the standard WordPress Theme 2019. I still have the same issue. Unfortunately. So I tried one of the themes from SiteOrigin and it worked.

I’ve set the theme for you to see!
I’m now getting 404 errors on the page category! Sorry the last message was borked!

Hi Kenneth, thanks for your feedback. We’re investigating.
Twenty Nineteen doesn’t have any loop files that are picked up by the Post Loop widget. If you edit the Post Loop widget with Twenty Nineteen activated you should see https://imgur.com/a/VhJWYdZ.
However, if you switch over to Twenty Sixteen, you can use content.php as your loop template and it works, at least this is what I observed during testing earlier.
Thanks! Yes, I can confirm that image in 2016 as I already tried that a while ago. I have now tried it across three sites on 2 servers, all running
PHP7.3. They are all fully updated. They also run the same theme. The behavior is consistent, though the theme has to be updated otherwise it doesn't work at all. Downgrading to .11 always fixes the issue.
Good luck on fixing that. :D
Thanks.
To confirm, when you test, the Twenty Sixteen theme correctly renders content.php as the Post Loop template, is that accurate?
I can recreate the issue with your theme locally.
I have now created a user for you to check out. I've already emailed you a password reset.
Please treat the install gently! It depends heavily on SiteOrigin, but not so much the PostLoop functionality.
Yes. It seems to show what you in the Imgur shot. Any chance you can delete these previous password resets from the public record. It’s not exactly safe! :D
Sorry for not confirming with you a bit earlier. I don’t think I need to login at this stage. I can recreate the issue you’re experiencing using the Iconic One theme (free). I see the issue and see it resolve when I rollback Page Builder.
Just for consistency, I wanted to confirm, as I wasn’t 100% sure based on the above chat when you test with Twenty Sixteen theme, content.php works correctly a template in the Post Loop widget? Is that accurate?
Hi
My Imgur screenshot is what I see in Twenty Nineteen.
I’ll delete the password reset messages. They are only visible to us though, if you log out you’ll see they are hidden, only staff and the forum poster can see them.
Ok. This is screenshotted for you… but… it’s started working in 2016 Theme…
https://www.lookthroughthelens.com/test-test-test/
But exactly as you said in 2019 theme. No post loops. I’m going to go to bed now … it’s too late! Thanks for the help. Good luck on patching this weird behavior.
Super, thanks for confirming, Twenty Sixteen works.
We’ll try to get to the bottom the issue in Iconic One and revert as soon as we know more.
Noticed that you pushed out an update v.**.13 … I’ve already given it a try on one site. Seems to work again! :D
I’m about to push it to the bigger site! So it’s looking great! Thank you for taking the time and effort to troubleshoot that. I really appreciate your help!
