post content widget – size of featured image

8 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 8 years ago

Dear all,
I use the Post Content Widget to display the featured image of my posts, but apparently it has an in-built width limit of 720px, while I’d like to see the full image (both height and width). With the Image Widget, I can do that, but it means attaching the same image twice, which isn’t very handy.
See an example here: http://eszter-maura.tk/shall-i/ ‎
The first image is displayed with the Post Content Widget (featured image), while the last is inserted with the Image Widget (display: full).
Is there a solution to display the featured image (with the Post Content Widget) full-width?
Thanks in advance.
Eszter

    Hi Eszter,

The post content doesn’t actually have a set width. It’s using the global post thumbnail size which can be adjusted by navigating to WP AdminSettingsMedia. You can’t set it to be the full width of the area but anything larger than the page will be reduced to fit on the page itself.

If you adjust the post thumbnail size you’ll need to regenerate your thumbnails.
