Post Carousel in Sidebar – Not connecting to the correct blog

I’m just getting familiar with theme Sydney and love it so far, the setup tutorials have saved me a ton of time but I am having a problem with the Post Carousel in the Sidebar.

I have the latest blog showing but when I click it keeps going to the first one. I’ve tried a few things with no luck. Currently will only go to the 1st blog, even the blog page would be better but I can’t find where to change this.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Example: See sidebar of http://emercarr.com/about/ click on the post, goes to a different blog (the first blog no matter which I choose from the post carousel)

Theme: Sydney by aThemes using SiteOrigin Widget Bundle.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Emer,

    You can fix this with some custom CSS. If you navigate to AppearanceCustom CSS, you’ll get our custom CSS editor. Just add the following code.

    .sow-carousel-item .overlay {
    	position: static !important;
    }

    How does that look?

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.

    Hi Alex,

    Yes that worked. I honestly couldn’t figure out the visual editor mode per tutorial, changes just wouldn’t take effect but worked fine on expanded mode.

    Thanks again,
    Really appreciate it.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Emer,

    I suspect you may be experiencing a plugin conflict. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

    If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

    Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    If the above doesn’t help, you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Reminder to self: Log back in after clearing cache! I just lost my message lol

    Thanks a mil, my head was melted yesterday clocking in 13 hrs on things. Loooooong day!

    Yes, I think you could be right with the issue I was having here Alex, now that I think about it, I did clear caches and finally worked. I will remember for the future. Working now so can’t test.

    Cleared cache again for another issue I’m having with my Sydney theme, not this but with my Testimonials not displaying and forgot to log back in as page was open.

    Question re full licence: Will it apply for all my websites? It does include full page builder right? I have a few blogs on the side too.
    Think I’ll try one of your themes next. I’m having fun with another post carousel and not sure if it is an issue with the widget or fact I used ‘clients’ instead of ‘posts’. Always something to slow you down ;-)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Emer,

    Let me know when you’ve given the test a try. :)

    To clarify, SiteOrigin Premium extends SiteOrigin Page Builder (and our other plugins and themes). It adds stuff we don’t consider “core” to using a page builder (or that product) so please understand that it enhances the experience, but it doesn’t dramatically change it. Hopefully, that makes sense.

    SiteOrigin Premium can be used on as many sites as your license allows for. So, for example, if you purchase a business license you’ll be able to use it on five sites. Does that make sense?

    Thanks Alex,

    I see the options now. Just as FYI it isn’t obvious ;-) Looks like $29 and no details for licence, got it once I clicked on it.

    It’s more for the support tbh, handy to have as I’m under huge time pressure at the minute trying to set up some websites. Plus your products are good! You should get paid for that too ya know!!! ;-)
