Possible to Integrate LayerSlider instead of Meta Slider?

11 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 11 years ago

As the title suggests, I’d like to use a Layer Slider instead of the Meta Slider, and I was wondering if anyone else has done this before and found a way to integrate it into the theme, or how to use the shortcode, etc, to use the layer slider instead.

Thoughts? Thank you much in advance.

    Hi Nathan

Andrew offers a good solution here. We’re hoping to add this as an option in a future update of Vantage, but for now, his solution works well.

Hi Greg. Thanks for responding so quickly it is appreciated. I haven’t tried this function yet, but I have been working with meta slider. I look forward to attempting the solution offered by Andrew in a similar topic.

    Hi Nathan

I’ve got a few of these slider threads scattered about. I’ll do an overview thread sometime soon. If you’d like, here is a child theme all ready to go for this:

    https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/vantage-child-home-page-layerslider.zip

Install the ZIP from Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme.

Then head to Appearance > Editor (we have a child theme running so it’s safe to use the Editor) and edit header.php. There you’ll see my slider call, wrapped in a home page conditional. Just tweak that to match the ID of the slider you want to render. If you have one slider this might even work right away.
