Possible Theme Conflict with Zippy Courses

Hi,

I recently installed Zippy Courses on a fresh install of WordPress and the Vantage Premium theme:
https://courses.janefriedman.com (requires login)

Zippy Courses allows you to set Featured Media/Featured Image, as described here:
https://zippycourses.com/docs/article/28-setting-up-featured-media-in-your-course

Thus far, I haven’t been able to make these featured media/images appear anywhere in the course, as described. It’s as if they don’t exist.

I’m wondering if there’s a conflict between Site Origin/Vantage and Zippy on this—and if so, if there would be an easy fix?

I can create a temporary login for the site if useful.

Thanks so much,
Jane

Here’s a page (open to the public) where a featured video should appear on the lefthand side of the page, but nothing appears: https://courses.janefriedman.com/course-directory/

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jane

    Thanks for reaching out.

To troubleshoot this problem, please, try the following:

    1. De-activate all other plugins except for SiteOrigin plugins and ZippyCourses. Does the issue resolve?
    2. If the problem doesn’t resolve then try testing Vantage and ZippyCourses alone. De-activate all other plugins including SiteOrigin plugins.
    3. If you make no progress with 1 & 2 then try testing ZippyCourses with all other plugins de-activated and just ZippyCourses activated. In addition, switch from Vantage to a default theme like Twenty Fifteen.

Our goal is to get featured images working and then add back elements until they break again, that way we’ll know where the problem is coming from.

    Thanks, Andrew.

    1. This is pretty easy since I don’t have any other plugins activated aside from ZippyCourses and SiteOrigin.
    2. If I additionally deactivate all SiteOrigin plugins, the problem still doesn’t resolve.
    3. If I deactivate Vantage, and use TwentyFifteen, with all other plugins still deactivated, the featured images appear as expected.

So, I believe that points to a conflict between Vantage and ZippyCourses?

    Thank you,
    Jane

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for all the testing. If you can send me a copy of the plugin I’ll be happy to take a further look into why this might be the case:

Good news: I was able to get the support team at Zippy Courses to create a child theme for me that resolves the conflict. If anyone else is in this situation, I’d be happy to share the child theme files.
