Positioning text and picture on SiteBuilder Hero Image

By Fabs, 6 years ago. Last reply by Fabs, 6 years ago.

Hey SiteOrigin Team! I’m trying to center my heading on the hero image but don’t know how or where. The text is centered horizontally but it’s located too far towards the top. Any idea how I could change that?

Also the Hero Image widget apparently chooses a random part of the picture to display. Is there a way to influence this or do I have to already resize the image before uploading?

Thanks so much! :)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Fabs,

You’ll need to adjust the Extra Top Padding setting (which is in the Design and Layout settings group) to get the desired contents placement. I would recommend setting the unit of measurement for the extra top padding to vh/vmin rather than px.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to automate this process at this time.

Regarding your other question, the hero widget is set to show the top center of the image. On smaller devices (depending on widget settings), your browser may clip the sides of the image off to ensure the image container height is maintained. This sadly is unavoidable without adjusting (read: reducing) your height, padding, etc. This is due to how background-size: cover; works.
