Since the update of wordpress to 5.8 I’m experiencing a problem… In this case WordPress has found a problem with one of your plugins: Page Builder by SiteOrigin.
The site displays the message “A critical error has occurred on this site” when opened.
Plugin Page Building by SiteOriging could not be loaded correctly and has been paused during recovery mode.
Hi Cor
Thanks for reaching out.
If you’re a semi-technical user you could enable WordPress debugging to find out what the error is, the error details. Here is how https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-set-up-wordpress-error-logs-in-wp-config/.
If you aren’t able to enable logging and check the log file the alternative is to seek a working baseline. If you temporarily deactivate all plugins except for Page Builder and then activate Page Builder, does the issue persist?
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your feedback, but indeed the problem was in a conflict with another plugin, Page Building conflicted with the Yoast plugin.
I have now disabled this, so the site is visible again. Unfortunately, it is a pity that this important plugin has to be disabled, since it is important for search engines.
Best regards Cor
Hi Cor
Thanks for your feedback. Page Builder is compatible with Yoast, Page Builder offers Yoast integration to ensure Yoast content analysis works with Page Builder content. Please, try testing with only Yoast SEO and Page Builder by SitOrigin activated. In that state, does the issue persist?
Hi Andrew
I’ll try that tonight, see which plugin isn’t working correctly
Sounds good, thanks!
