Plugin Page-Builder by SiteOrigin not updating content

Hi Andrew,
sorry for the delayed response I have been on holiday. Here was our first thread:

Plugin Page-Builder by SiteOrigin not updating content on front-end

The problem is that the Site-Origin editor doesn’t respond to our changes. When we make changes in the editor, they are not reflected on the front end (not a caching or CDN issue). When I “switch to page-builder”, no content is shown that can be changed.

Only additional-css works which i’d rather avoid and get to the bottom of the problem.

when we deactivate the plugin Page-Builder by SiteOrigin, the content-changes that we make in the WordPress editor are shown as expected on the front-end. However when we reactivate the plugin, the content does not update and reflect the changes in the editor on the front-end.

Some screenshots here incase that helps.

Thanks a lot in advance

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jake

    Thanks for the update.

A quick reminder that Page Builder content shouldn’t be edited outside of Page Builder if the intention is to continue using Page Builder.

The layout appears broken, which is why the Text tab contents have been moved into a single Editor Widget instead of multiple cells and widgets.

Can you use the page’s Revisions feature to restore an earlier revision of the page?

    HI Andrew,

thanks. Hmm, I think this issue has been occuring since as long as we can remember, there is no revision draft that fixes the issue.

    Do you have another idea?

As I said, when the plugin Page-Builder by SiteOrigin is active, it’s. broken, but when we disable this, it updates.

    Best regards
    Jake

    Hi Jake

    – The layout will need to be rebuilt. It shouldn’t take long.
    – Diagnosing why changes aren’t reflected is another issue.

    You can try the following:

    – Backup the layout by clicking on LayoutsImport/ExportDownload Layout. You can also backup the code from the Text tab of the Editor Widget in a file on your desktop if you’d like.

    – Click the Revert to Editor button.
    – Clear the contents of the entire page in the Text tab.
    – Click the Page Builder tab to return to Page Builder.
    – Insert a SiteOrigin Editor Widget. Add any content. Save.

    Do your changes reflect?

    Hi Andrew,

    thanks a lot.

I created a test environment replicating the live version to test this and it worked:
    https://irpstand130922.kinsta.cloud/shop/zur-kasse/

So essentially, the only option is to delete all the code in the “text” tab, then return to page-builder view and re-build it?

    Best
    Jake

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jake

Thanks for the update. We can try to troubleshoot the issue further, but it’s probably quicker, perhaps a 10min task, to rebuild the layout.

Edit the row and open the Attributes section. It looks like the row had a class name of:

    header_checkout

The row has four columns. There is an Editor Widget in each column.

    First Editor Widget contents:

    <a href="http://irish-pure.de/shop/einkaufswagen/"></a>

    <a href="http://irish-pure.de/shop/einkaufswagen/">
    <img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-58 aligncenter" src="https://irish-pure.de/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/IP_Logo_Outline_gr-2.png" alt="woondershop logo" width="106" height="95">

    </a><a href="http://irish-pure.de/shop/einkaufswagen/"></a>

    Second Editor Widget contents:

    <h1 class="h3" style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #999999">Kasse</span></h1>

    Third Editor Widgets contents:

    ><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-1070 aligncenter" src="https://www.irish-pure.de/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/TrustedShops-rgb-Siegel_100Hpx.png" alt="trust badge" width="100" height="100">

    Fourth Editor Widget contents:

<p style="font-size: 14px;">Sie benötigen Hilfe? Rufen Sie uns an:

    <a class="btn btn-info btn-rounded btn btn-info btn-sm" href="tel:004930220120080" target="_self"><i class="fas fa-phone"></i> +49 30 22 01200 – 80</a>

Perhaps less than 10mins, it might be a five minute task.

    Hi, I Work Here

My paragraph tags are being stripped by the forum. Here is a file with the contents of each widget:

    https://we.tl/t-agr8TVC0XK

Copy each section into the Text tab of an Editor Widget and you’re away.
