We have issue. After an hour of dinking around I figured it out. Our website is built with Site Origin bundle and now Checkout has blank white screen after new Woocommerce update.
When “”Page Builder by SiteOrigin”” is activated the checkout is white and does not link. When I have both “Page Builder by SiteOrigin” and “”SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle”” both activated as your rules suggest is necessary, the whole website is white. Does this happen with your plugin everytime Woocommerce updates??????? BLERG! Getting hard to make a buck these days.
Plugin creates blank white screen after WooCommerce update

Hi Mreps,
That sounds like you’ve reached the memory limit. You need to apply a pretty hands on fix to resolve this issue. This article would be a good read as it’ll outline how to change it. You’ll need to edit wp-config.php. If you’re unfamiliar with FTP, I would recommend asking your hosting provider for help with editing this file.
Hi Alex,
Thank you for your reply. I have plenty of memory. I have been using WP only a year so, this one was a new one to me.
I turned off all my plugins and then turned on WooCommerce, then your SiteOrigin plugins and then others one by one. Everything seemed to be jiving with each other until I got to WooCommerce Bulk Discount then white screen on the checkout page only. I turned it off and then on again and now it all is working and showing like there never was a problem.
It’s a mystery but isn’t life? Anyway, thanks again I really appreciate your response and I will read the article so see if there is something I need to still edit in the ww-cofig.php.
Happy May Day!
Margot Reps
Hi Alex,
It’s Margot again… after writing you, I went to my checkout and again with the mortifying white screen in checkout with WooCommerce Bulk Discounts activated. I swear on my Mothers grave it worked last night!
Anyway…. into my cp went… I added the memory 256 memory code into my wp-config.php file where the article told me to add and viola, my plugins are all working and everything seems to be zooming along.
Thanks again for your help! Are you Married? Just kidding, I’m married and pretty old but I have a niece who just got her masters degree. ;P
Margot
Hi Margot,
Masters degree, huh? ;)
Jokes aside, this is a common misconception so don’t feel too bad about this. Basically, what you’re thinking of is file space which is where data is stored for long periods of time – think long term data. Memory, however, is temporary data, it’s only there for a little while – think short term data. Memory is more expensive in a literal sense so you typically have far less of it and hosting providers will favor the default values which are way too low. For example, your website likely had the memory limit much lower than what even WooCommerce recommends (which is 68MB if I remember correctly) so when you have a few large plugins like WooCommerce and SiteOrigin Page Builder (and a few others), you’re basically at the limit. Another plugin or an update will likely be the tipping point and will force you to hit the limit. That’s why and how you reached this limit.
Does that make sense? :)
Hi Alex,
I understand… and I work on a mac. It’s like ram and rom.
Best wishes! Margot
