Hi

I’m unable to update SiteOrigin Builder. Here’s the message:

Warning: require_once(/var/www/volumes/xvdg4/vhosts/hutttimebank.org/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/inc/functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/volumes/xvdg4/vhosts/hutttimebank.org/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/siteorigin-panels.php on line 21

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/var/www/volumes/xvdg4/vhosts/hutttimebank.org/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/inc/functions.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear’) in /var/www/volumes/xvdg4/vhosts/hutttimebank.org/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/siteorigin-panels.php on line 21

The whole website is down. I’ve deactivated all the plugins and slowly activated them and came to the SiteOrigin Builder and found this was the error. The error occurred before I updated the site to WordPress 5.

Many thanks for all your help.
Cheers
Alisa

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alisa,

Unfortunately, this error means that WordPress experienced issues while installing a recent Siteorigin Page Builder update, and the update wasn’t able to be installed correctly. When this issue occurs, WordPress will leave certain plugin files present so you’re unable to directly reinstall the plugin through WordPress and will need to use FTP. If you’re unfamiliar with FTP, Please reach out to your hosting provider for assistance with making this change.

If you’re familiar with FTP, please connect to your website and navigate to your WordPress directory. Go to wp-content/plugins and delete siteorigin-panels.

Once deleted, please open your website again and navigate to WP AdminPluginsAdd New and search for and install Page Builder by SiteOrigin again.

Many thanks Alex for explaining all that – I’ve forwarded your message to my hosting provider and hopefully they can sort it out. All the best, Alisa

Took them about 2 minutes to follow your instructions and the website is back up and running. Thanks again :)
