I migrated my website from local to server yesterday and everything seemed to go smoothly. Earlier I was updating a WooCommerce plugin but there was no progress with it for like 6 hours and I had to leave the computer I was working on. Now when I view the website it has a ton of PHP error messages but I can see its all related to this plugin. I can’t however even access my dashboard now to deactivate it. Is there an easy fix to this issue? Don’t have a clue where to begin as I am newish to wordpress. Thanks in advance.

Hi Kevin
Sorry to hear about the hassle. The quickest way to get access back would be to login to your serve via FTP or use your hosting File Manager service, navigate to /wp-content/plugins and rename the plugin causing the problem. I usually just put an underscore in front of the name. That will de-activate the plugin in question, thereby allowing access to the admin.
Which plugin is causing the problem? WooCommerce?
Also check out your wp-config.php file, it’s located in your WordPress root folder. Ideally wp-debug should be set to false for a production site, that way errors don’t present on the front of the site.

Thanks Andrew for the quick response. I have managed to rectify the issue. I simply used my FTP to delete the WooCommerce plugin on the server and just uploaded the local version again and it worked, the site is back in working order. I don’t know what happened earlier, the plugin update for WooCommerce just never seemed to work.
Thanks again
Super, really glad to hear you were able to resolve.
So are you now a version behind? Is WooCommerce showing an update? Was it that update that caused the problem?
