Permalinks Broken

After the recent update to siteorigin pagebuilder, all of the permalinks in the wordpress site has stopped functioning. The default permalinks setting works but once switched to “Post Name” or any other permalinks setting the pages don’t load properly. You can click on a menu item and only the most recently cached page is returned. The logs are correct on the webserver but the correct page is not served, it just goes to the most recently cached page. I have attempted all recommended remedies (.htaccess, reset permalink, disabled all plugins) all to no avail. The only change was the recent update to the siteorigin pagebuilder plugin.

    Hi David

    Thanks for reaching out.

You can try seeking a working baseline. Does the issue persist with a default theme like Twenty Nineteen activated and all plugins including Page Builder deactivated? There haven’t been any changes made to Page Builder that are likely to have an impact on permalinks. Running a baseline test is one way to remove any theme or plugin influence in order to rule that out.

    Andrew,
Thanks for getting back to me. The problems persists without any plugins activated and using the theme you suggested. I have already re-installed WP but this instance is running on a Godaddy shared site so I will need to turn up error reporting to see if I can determine what’s going on.

    Hi David

Thanks for running the test. It’s unusual that none of the usual steps you took helped. If PHP error reporting doesn’t turn up anything useful in the log then it might be worth opening a ticket with GoDaddy to see if they can spot the cause.
