Performance issue with Widget Bundle

7 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 7 years ago

Hi,

We bought a theme called “Vestige Museum” from imithemes. This theme makes use of loads of external extensions including the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle.
We have an important performance issue using this theme and, after disabling most extensions, we eventually found that the SO Bundle was the problem. For an obscure reason, our site takes ~10sec more to generate the homepage when the bundle is active. We decided to deactivate all related blocks, having the bundle active, and found that (not excluding others) the Events List/Grid Widget seems to be the problem.

Any clue/help on making this bundle work correctly without this huge slowdown?
Any known issue/incompatibility with some other extensions?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hi AssoMO5,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having performance issues. Unfortunately, we don’t actually have a Events List / Grid widget. I suspect you’re using a fork (a version based on our code but not developed by us). Can you please clarify the name of the plugin (it should be SiteOrigin Widgets BUndle) and the version number? You can check this by navigating to WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.

After checking twice, it’s an imitheme widget (imithemes – Upcoming Events Widget), but it’s classified under the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle extension.

    Hi AssoMO5,

The SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle is a widget development framework anyone can use to build widgets. Any widgets created using this framework can be activated by navigating to WP AdminPluginsSiteOrigin.

Unfortunately, we can’t directly assist with debugging third-party widgets. You’ll need to reach out to imithemes for assistance with this.

    Ok, we’ll do that then.

    Thank you very much.
