HELP
This is a big problem and I have been searching all over your forums for an answer. It seems either there’s a problem with my website or you are completely unaware this happens.
When I restore a previous revision of a page, EVERY widget turns into a SiteOrigin Editor widget. That means all styling is lost and the only way to fix it (as far as I’ve figured out) is to rebuild the entire page. You claim that site origin stores all info in WordPress revisions (AS IT SHOULD) but whenever you restore a page you effectively brake it.
PLEASE tell me there is a simple fix to this and I’m too stupid to figure it out.
I just lost hours of work because of an idiotic co-worker who thought it would be a good idea to use their own brain for once. I cant restore using the history tab as I didn’t make the changes and they can only restore from 10 seconds ago, great feature btw.
Hi Darie,
Unfortunately, we can’t seem to replicate this issue and as no one else has reported this issue, we suspect you may be experiencing a plugin conflict issue.
Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue (you’ll need to restore to a previous version of the page)? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
Hi Darie,
Correction: We’ve managed to replicate this issue. Admittedly, it’s quite tricky to replicate this issue but a well established page would make it much easier to replicate. We’ve worked out the cause for this and are looking for possible fixes.
In the meantime, you can avoid this issue by temporarily changing to a different theme. Please note that this issue will remain for any saves made when the 2.5.12 was active. Please navigate to WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins and deactivate/delete Page Builder by SiteOrigin. Click Add NewUpload Plugin and upload/activate this version.
Hi Darie,
Sorry for the delay. We’ve released a hotfix update to for SiteOrigin Page Builder for this issue. Sadly, this update will only be able to correct this issue for new revisions and won’t be able to retroactively fix revisions prior to this version. We’re very sorry about this!
