PageBuilder: Kind of default values weird behavior and inline CSS problems

Hello there,
first of all, congratulation for this amazing plugin.
… and here is the problem in 2 points:

. Each time I open a widget to modify it (a SiteOrigin Editor one in this case), under the Design tab, it loads 2 colors on the Widget Title and Headings. It doesn’t matter I say clear and save, next time I open the widget, it reloads again those colors in those 2 fields
. The Content alignment select forces me to operate a choice between Left, Center, Right and writes the result as an inline CSS. It started doing so lately (not sure if something changed), indeed I realized when, being I use a couple of CSS rules to change the alignment accordingly with the width of the display, I found myself stuck with a single alignment for every device being the Control alignment writes an inline rule under the Style tag … Isn’t possible to add an “Ignore” or “None” option to so to leave at the web developer to manage the content alignment as preferred?

Best regards
Marco

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Marco,

Thank you for the kind words.

Regarding your first point. Could you clarify what settings are defaulting? I just took a once over all of the design color settings and none of them have a default color.

Regarding your second point. Could you clarify what content alignment select your referring too? A screenshot would be much appreciated.

    Hi Alex,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I attached a screenshot of the settings which are defaulting and the control which suddenly started forcing the alignment.

Design Tab inside a SiteOrigin Editor widget

Widget Title Color and Headings Color are the defaulting ones to a random dark grey you can see. The screenshot is from a regular SiteOrigin Editor Widget and, no matter what I save as a value, when I open back the widget they revert to this “default” value which, if not changed, is then saved.

The Content Alignment selection just above them is the one I was referring to. I actually managed to solve the problem by adding to the pages few js lines of code which are taking care of responsively reformatting the paragraphs which have a certain assigned CSS class. Before the Content Alignment started to forcefully writing the value in the HTML Style tag, I was using the same classes to control the alignment with a media tag.

The website is running within a WordPress network, 4.6.1. The same behavior is replicated in any website which belongs to the network.

    Cheers
    Marco

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Marco,

I’m unsure what’s adding those styles. To clarify, they’re not present in the base version of the plugin. For reference, here are the base design row styles:

    Widget Styles:

These could be added by your theme or a plugin. I would recommend disabling any SiteOrigin connected plugin one by one to try and work out what’s adding these row styles.

    Hi Alec,
    thanks for your hint.
I indeed discovered it was Sydney Pro which, possibly in one of the last updates, added those controls and the default values which were creating the problems I had.
I had to modify their page-builder.php file to adjust the way those controls work, and now everything is back to normal.

    Thanks again
    Marco

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Marco,

Thanks for letting me know the cause.

I would recommend reporting this issue to the theme developers so they know that this might not be as desired as they had hoped.
