Hello,
My hosting provider did a PHP update which totally broke my WordPress site. I restored the site by turning off Page Builder for ThinkupThemes. I tried installing the regular Page Builder, which solved some of the issues, but many widgets are now missing. Will you be updating Page Builder for ThinkupThemes?
Lynn
Hi Lynn
Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear about the hassle.
Page Builder for Think Up Themes is a fork of Page Builder by SiteOrigin. The fork belongs to Think Up Themes and is, unfortunately, completely beyond our control.
You could consider rolling back your PHP version or perhaps replacing the missing Think Up widget with widgets from the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. Sorry, I don’t have better news. All of our plugins are GPL licensed and can be used and modified without restriction.
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for responding so quickly. I suspected it might be a ThinkUp issue; thank you for confirming that. I think updating to SiteOrigin widgets is the way I’ll go.
Thanks for your understanding. All the best with the transition. If questions arise only the way, please let us know.
Hi Andrew,
I just wanted to make one more comment about the Site Origin/Thinkup Themes Page Builder plugin. On the Installed Plugins page of my WP site, this is the description next to the plugin:
A drag and drop, responsive page builder with parallax functionality that simplifies building your website originally built by SiteOrigin. This version is a highly customized version of the page builder built by SiteOrigin and will only function properly with themes developed by ThinkUpThemes. All customizations have been made in compliance with the right and limitations of the GNU GPL license. The original site builder by SiteOrigin can be found at SiteOrigin. Version 1.1.0 corresponds to v1.3.10 of the SiteOrigin Page Builder.
Version 2.4.4 | By Greg Priday | Visit plugin site
The fact that this description links to the Site Origin website (twice) gives the impression that the customization has been done by Site Origin, not Thinkup Themes. I also can’t find this customized plugin in WP’s list of plugins, implying that it possibly no longer exists or is being updated. I inherited the maintenance of this website, so I’m not aware of when it was installed.
I just wondered if Site Origin was aware of the description used in this plugin.
Thanks for your reply.
We’re aware of the plugin description, it’s really unfortunate but, unfortunately, beyond our control. As far as I’m aware this fork was never listed on the WordPress.org directory. Think Up would be able to advise on the plugin’s maintenance status.
Hi Andrew,
Thank you again for your prompt reply. I have contacted Think Up, but haven’t heard back from them as yet (which is disappointing, seeing how I am a paying customer using their Minimaze theme). It will take me a bit of time to convert the Thinkup Themes widgets on my site to those from Site Origin, but your exceptional service has convinced me that I won’t go wrong using your company’s products.
Hope you hear back soon :) Thanks for your understanding and support.
