PageBuilder Defaults to Text Editor – FrontEnd Ok Backend Broken

Been using PageBuilder 6 months. When editing pages it defaults to the text editor. When I try to copy to the PageBuilder editor, widgets show as missing and cannot be saved. I have deactivated plugins, cleared the cache, tested different themes and cannot resolve the issue. The only positive is that the frontend does not appear to be impacted. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Lynn,

To clarify, what widgets specifically aren’t working when you enable Page Builder?

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

if that doesn’t help, would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Hi:

I have disabled all plugins, cleared cached & changed themes with no luck.
PageBuilder defaults to the text editor.
Modal Popups by SiteOrigin Widgets by CodeLights – show as missing and no widgets can be changed and saved.
I can send a temporary login if you can help.

    Hi Lynn,

Can you please ensure the only active plugins are by SiteOrigin (Codelights is a third party developer so you’ll need to disable that plugin). You can verify this by checking the Author tag on the plugins list.

Also, did temporarily changing theme help at all?

    Hi Alex:

I disabled all of my plugins except for those by SiteOrigin. The pages still default to the text editor.
When copied to Page Builder images in SiteOrigin Hero widgets disappear and some but not all the data is copied into the widget. ( ex.images are missing) I cleared cache and tried a different theme but encountered the same issues. I even tried backups with no luck.

    Hi Alex:

I set up a temporary admin account. Please have a look. I did not notice your instructions.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Lynn,

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to complete the registration or view your website in general. As soon as I view it, I receive a “Page Unavailable” message. Are you doing any geoblocking or anything like that? I ask because I’m based in Australia so if you’re blocking Australia you’ll need to temporarily unblock it so I can access your website. Sorry about this!

Hm. Actually, come to think of this does sound similar to another issue. Are you currently using Cloudflare? I ask because a user has reported that they’re currently unable to use a certain type of Cloudflare encryption. I know that’s a tad vague and for that I’m sorry. We’re not too sure on the finer details at the moment, we’re currently looking into it.

    Hi,

I am running 2 duplicate websites on Cloudflare hosted by SiteGround. The settings are the same for sites.
My encryption settings: SSL – Full Strict, Always Use HTTPS is to ON,
    Opportunistic
    Encryption is set to ON,
Automatic HTTPS Rewrites is set to ON and all other settings are set to default.

If it helps I can give you access to my Cloudflare account and you can look at both sites.

You should be able to access my site now, I fixed the error.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Lynn,

Thanks. Can you please temporarily disable Rocket Loader? I ask as another user reported that was causing them issues and I can see you’re currently using it. Please note that this functionality also appears to make W3 Total Cache to cache wp-admin (which should never happen) so you’ll need to clear your page cache after making this setting adjustment.

    Hi Alex:

Thank you. Disabling Rocket Loader in my Cloudflare account worked.
Page Builder loads properly. I'm so happy.
