Pagebuilder: Centering images/gifs no longer working

Hello. I posted this on the WordPress.org forum about 3 weeks ago, but got no response. So, I thought I’d try here. It’s pretty important that I get an answer for this so that I can update this plugin. Please help in any way possible.

Here’s what I posted:

I just tried updating my plugins and this one seems to be having a problem with WP 4.7.4 and 4.7.5. After the update, a couple of groups of animated gifs that I have placed in page builder visual editor widgets are no longer centering with my css commands. The css command is “text-align: center;”. Very simple, right? It has worked the same way for all previous updates, going back a couple of years, but no longer with the newest update to 2.5.3. (Now 2.5.6) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using the Customizr theme if that helps at all. Please, can someone help with this???? I’m desperate at this point. I would hate to have to rebuild the whole website just because I can’t use the Pagebuilder plugin anymore.

Side note: the text-align: center; does work with text and images in the Visual Editor widget, but not the animated gif files.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dsb0328,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

  3. 7 years, 3 months ago dsb0328

I do, but the new version is not loaded because it’s causing these issues. I had to go back to the old version so it centers the gifs. The site is here. Not sure if that helps since the old version is still in place, but I am also working on it on my server as I am making a lot of changes to the site. Same thing happens there and still have the old version loaded as well. Let me know if you want a lnk to that one too. I would have to turn off the login, though.

By the way, it’s the animated reels in the center of the page that aren’t able to be centered.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dsb0328,

Can you please link me to your test server so I can see the resulting issue? I’m unsure how why this is occurring so I really need to inspect the resulting issue.

Yes I can, but I will have to update it first and it would have to be either looked at quickly or over the weekend when my client is not viewing it for changes. Is this possible? I will also have to give you a username and password or turn that off for a couple days.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dsb0328,

On the weekend is fine for us – just let me know when I’m able and I’ll take a look.

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

Hi Alex. Sorry for the long delay. Some things came up last weekend and also the clent wanted to push the site live by Monday, so I didn’t have time to get you added as a user. However, that said, now you have time to look at the site in it’s updated form without me having to worry about the client looking at the site on my server. I have added you as a user now. Please let me know when you have had time to review the site and have feedback. Thanks

Btw, you’ll notice that since the plugin is now updated, the animated gifs on the home page are not centered anymore, but images and text are. Like on the Equipment page.

Please try it again as I just turn off the privacy on the server. Sorry about that.

I just noticed that the username and pw are showing up in this feed. I don’t know if that’s just me seeing it or if everyone that’s logged in can see that. Can you confirm that it would be just me? And if not, at least change the password please. Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dsb0328,

This issue occurred as we (in 2.5) changed to a flex based layout system rather than a float/margin based system. Please open your child theme’s stylesheet and find:

    #pgc-1498-1-0 {	max-width: 880px;	white-space: nowrap;	width: 100%;}

Apply margin: 0 auto; and the row will center.

    Then please remove:

    #panel-1498-1-0-0 > div > div > h4 {    width: 32%;}

Regarding your last reply, no, only you and staff members can see the password. Please feel free to delete the account.

Just tried that and it didn’t work. I did enter it in the inspector within the browser, and as it did center the whole row, the gifs were still not centered. You can also reference this link if you want to compare as to how they should look.

You can see that it is in the code about halfway down in the Stylesheet in the Editor.

Whoops. Didn’t see the 2nd part of that code and will put that in there when I get back to it in about an hour. Thanks so far!

  17. 7 years, 2 months ago dsb0328

Okay, removed that 2nd line of code and it is now centered, but I’m not sure why there’s more room on the sides of the gifs now. And it doesn’t look centered/correct in landscape mode on an iPad.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Dsb0328,

I’d like to help you with this issue further but unfortunately, this is beyond the scope of the support we’re able to offer on our free forums. This issue is as a result of your child theme CSS which means that by reviewing (and adjusting) your child theme style.css you should be able to resolve this issue.

We do offer this level of support to our premium users, so if you’d like to upgrade to SiteOrigin Premium, then I can help you over email support.

If you’d prefer not to upgrade to SiteOrigin Premium, then you can hire a WordPress developer from Codeable. They’ll charge you an hourly rate for any work done.

I understand, and thanks for the help you did give. I was just hoping to resolve this since, really, the code worked before, but not after, you changed the plugin. Hopefully I can figure it out, and if not, then maybe I’ll have to purchase the premium version this time around. Thanks again.
