PageBuilder appears incompatible with Toolset Types

Notice: This thread is over two years old; the information may be outdated. Please consider creating a new thread if you require free support. If you have an active SiteOrigin Premium license, you can email our premium support desk at [email protected].

After a significant amount of trial and error with plugins and themes, I’ve determined that the latest version of PageBUilder seems to be incompatible with Toolset Types, the most popular WP plugin for custom content. When both plugins are active, the SiteOrigin Page Builder does not appear on pages/posts/etc. that have been marked for its use. When Toolset Types is disabled, functionality returns.

This appears to be true regardless of the theme or the other plugins present (tested with about 10 of each). This is super frustrating, as there are several free themes (particularly those by Athemes) that rely on the interplay of these two plugins to produce really nice results.

Because Toolset Types was last updated on 3/8 and Page Builder was updated on 3/11, and I was able to successfully use Page Builder without any problems on 3/9, I believe that the problem is with Page Builder rather than Toolset Types. Could you please look into the problem and correct it so these plugins can work together properly again? Thank you.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Elizabeth,

I’m unable to replicate this. It’s possible there’s a setting you’ve changed or something like that to cause this issue. Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us? I’ll use said account to make a local version of your website so I can try and resolve the issue. You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

I am having the same issue. The two plugins work fine together on their own, but as soon as I add the StageShow plugin or MailPoet, I am unable to access the administration pages. The theme is Moesia from Athemes. I have had my site set up for a while, with the Toolset Types active and using data. Today I tried to add the two new plugins and both caused the failure. I was able to add The Newsletter plugin without a problem.

Hopefully this added info helps you locate the problem.

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi ChicoRama,

I hate to say this but, I can’t replicate it. Which is, well it’s obviously odd. I know I’m missing something I just can’t see it. if either you, or Elizabeth can provide me access I can definitely start looking into how to resolve this issue but right now I’m sort of forced to sit on my hands because I… I just have the issue. :(

With that said, your issues seem to be slightly different but overall there’s obviously something up.

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Ahmad,

I’m sadly not able to contact you on Skype.

If you provide me access I should be able to work out what the issue is. Annoyingly, no one else in this thread has done so I haven’t been able to resolve it sooner. :(

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Ahmad,

Okay so your problem seems to be different to the other users here. I enabled the Toolset plugin and instantly got a 500 error. This seems to remain after the fact. Could you please manually go in and disable the plugin? Once that’s done I’ll replicate this issue locally to see if I can see why this is happening.

          Hi, I Work Here

          Hi Ahmad,

I think I’ve found, and resolved the issue. This issue stems from incomplete plugin files likely due to a failed update. Basically, there are missing files in your install of SiteOrigin Widget Bundles. I’ve reinstalled the plugin but haven’t activated Toolset – please do so now.

I’m able to resolve this issue by doing this locally.

          Hi, I Work Here

          Hi Ahmad,

If that’s the case I suspect your host may be at fault as I’m unable to run into any further issues locally, and on a staging site. I suggest contacting your host and asking for error logs, and support on this issue.

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Ahmad,

I’m unable to experience the www issue. I suspect I’m not fully understanding the issue. Is the issue that you want it to be http://www.yoursite.de? If so, that’s not something I can help with either. I can point you in the right direction, though.

Hm. Is your theme in the WordPress directory? If it is, you’ll have to move the contents to the parent. I would recommend following this Codex. Please note I am unable to provide support for any issues that may arise from doing this.

Hey guys, Your problem is internal error. try disabling all other plugins. my installations are on several websites including my Localhost and they are all fine.

I would like to apologize that I am not able to provide you a technical instructions however problem belongs to ToolSet plugin update.

I will go bit more with details if it helps.

Download manually Toolset plugins. unzip them and on your Mac/PC and upload using FTP. You should be fine.

To resolve the Page errors. rename .htaccess file and regenerate it in wordpress site settings. “change permalinks to something else and then switch it back. :) Idiot method but still the fastest. hihi..”

    Regards.
