Hi Guys!
Thanks so much for creating such awesome Pugins and Themes
I am a Newbe to wordpress but your pugins have been a huge help. I am using the Sydney Theme with SiteOrigin Editor as my main meand of editing layout and content www.nikkol-events.com
I have created a page jump anchor link which is on my Main Menu called “services” The link jumps to the correct place when I am on the home page but if I am on any other page and try to click onto services it does not do nothing? How can I make it so the link also works on other pages?
I created the link by Appearances > Menu > Custom link
URL #home_services
Thanks so much for any help!
Hannah
Hi Hannah3213,
Setting the URL to just #home_services will tell the browser to check for the ID on the current page – regardless of whether it’s actually on that page or not. So, to avoid this, you need to prepend the actual page URL to it. For example, if the Services is on the home page, set your URL to /#home_services. If it’s on the about page, set it to /about/#home_services.
Does that make sense? Basically, you need to link to the page the ID is on to ensure it works regardless of what page the user is viewing.
Hello AlexS,
Yes, your explanation made perfect sense and after your suggested tweeks the link works like a dream.
Thanks so much for all your help. I hope you have a good day!
