Hi,
How can I get rid of this error which shows on all pages of this website? I have tried deactivating plugins but it didn’t help. “…/vantage-icons.woff” is on the server as called for.
“NetworkError: 404 Not Found – http://photosbysalz.com/new/wp-content/themes/vantage/icons/vantage-icons.woff?-9o183q”
vantage…-9o183q
“NetworkError: 404 Not Found – http://photosbysalz.com/new/wp-content/themes/vantage/icons/vantage-icons.woff?-9o183q”
Hi Reesa
Thanks for your support. The suffix at the end of the file name is used for cache busting purposes: -9o183q. Unfortunately, it seems some hosts don’t like loading these suffixes and the result is a 404. We’ll be dropping this suffix in the next update. Two options for now:
1. Chat to your hosts and ask if they can whitelist the file in question.
2. Remove the extension manually:
Appearance > Editor > locate fontawesome/css/font-awesome.css and edit the file Remove only
From the end of the woff file include on line 10. Let me know how that goes if you go this route.
Hi Andrew,
I do not see Appearance > Editor > fontawesome/css/font-awesome.css in the Editor section.
Apologies, this edit would need to made using FTP or Hosting File Manager. The other option would be to chat your hosts and check if they can allow this file to load.
Hi Andrew,
I don't know what to delete. Here is Line 10:
src: url('../font/fontawesome-webfont.eot?#iefix&v=4.2.0')
format('embedded-opentype'),
url('../font/fontawesome-webfont.woff?v=4.2.0') format('woff'),
url('../font/fontawesome-webfont.ttf?v=4.2.0') format('truetype'),
url('../font/fontawesome-webfont.svg?v=4.2.0#fontawesomeregular')
format('svg');
Thanks.
Apologies for the huge delay. I somehow missed your reply. I can’t see an error in the browser console anymore. Did you make further progress? Thanks.
Hi Andrew,
Yes, this is fixed. The host allowed the file type and all is well. Thanks!
Awesome, really glad to hear you were able to resolve. Thanks for the update.
All the best.
