I found at least three other posts similar to what I’m about to say, which say nothing can be done, but I’m going to ask anyway because there HAS to be a better solution.
My page displays rows below the top row before displaying the hero row. I have tried some things with the autoptimize plugin and also have optimized my images, thinking that these things would help. The page is now loading quicker, but the top Hero row is still loading after the content below it.
If the hero doesn’t load first because of DOM or whatever the exact reason that was given in the other threads, then what is the point of calling it a hero? It is supposed to be the first thing that visitors see that provides the first impression and an opportunity to take action with the included button. This is seriously something that might need some development attention.
If it’s impossible to get it to load before my other content, what other widget or combination of widgets from the bundle can I use in page builder to replace it with something that will look and function the same, but will load first?
The site I need help with is millards-store.com
Hi Jane
Thanks for reaching out. You can perhaps give https://smartslider3.com/ a try and see if they’re handling the loading of assets better than the Hero. The easiest way to test would be to create a test page, then within Page Builder go to LayoutsClone: Pages. Clone your home page and replace the Hero widget with a Smart Slider widget. Test with one of the demo sliders offered. Let us know how that goes :) Thanks.
