Page Builder with cols vs. Infinite Scroll

9 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 9 years ago

Hi community!
I’m having a little problem with the Page Builder and Infinite Scroll. When it loads additional posts from my blog page, it “forgets” to load the floating, padding and the likes. I resolved it by setting .panel-grid-cell:first-child and last-child respectively to set floating and 25/75% width for both fullscreen and <780px via media queries.

This can't be the way to go though, other plugins offer callbacks to load their stuff, can the Page Builder do that also?

Best regards,
Matthias

    Hi Msbt

    Thanks for reaching out.

Please, let us know, which theme are you using and which infinite scroll plugin are using. We’ll take a look from there. Thanks :)

Thanks for your feedback. Could you perhaps let us know which widget you’re using in Page Builder to load your posts. Once we know that we could test using the infinite scroll plugin you’re currently using. Thanks again :)

Sorry for not being clearer. I was under the impression you were using Page Builder to output your posts page, that would have a required a widget like the Post Loop widget or something like Query Wrangler. Thanks for the link :) I can see now this is your Blog page and Page Builder is being used in your posts but not to directly output the posts page.

Thanks for reporting this problem. The challenge is that Page Builder is only loading the necessary grid CSS in the document head for the posts on the page. So if you look at the ID’s in the posts before infinite scroll kicks in, you’ll see that there are matching CSS rules in the document head printed by Page Builder. For the ID’s after infinite scroll loads posts, there aren’t any. Usually, they would only be added when you clicked to Page 2 in regular pagination. This is great feedback and I’ll log a bug report for our developers to attend to as soon as possible. For the moment, I, unfortunately, don’t have any hotfix solutions that are practical or quick. Wish I had better news.

Thanks again for your considered feedback, it’s most appreciated. I’ll chat with our developers. Hopefully we can find a way to load the necessary Page Builder grid CSS in this scenario.

    All the best :)
