Page Builder update breaking plugin compatibility

Hi,

Since you latest update (or 2 latest updates, the last one was pretty close), I’ve had problems using other plugins, such as the Porfolio Gallery from Huge IT, and Smart Slider 3 from Nextend.

I asked for support from Huge IT thinking it was their update. They checked it out and told me is was probably from the CSS from SiteOrigin PageBuilder. Indeed, when using the portfolio outside of the Page Builder, everything works fine.

Then I realised that the interactive slider from Smart Slider 3 was not interactive anymore. So I tried it outside of Page Builder, and there it works again.

Both plugins were working fine inside Page Builder before the latest updates. What have you changed? How can I get a compatible version once again?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Ecollot,

I can’t seem to see any issues with either of these plugins. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

    Hi Alex,

    Regarding Smart Slider 3:

If you go on https://amf.ch/new/product/oem-rotary-valve/, you can see that the slider is no longer interactive. Normally it is possible to click either on the arrows or on the little images below to change to it, and if you hover on an image it stays on it.

If you go on https://amf.ch/new/accessories/, you can see that this time it is interactive: you can click on the arrows and if you hover on the image it does not change anymore. However, the small thumbnails that are at the bottom do not appear anymore.

    Regarding the Huge-IT Portofolio:

If you go to https://amf.ch/new/applications/, you can see that the plugin is working fine. However, that is only the case when the shortcode is directly added in the "Visual" WordPress tab. If I add it though the Page Builder, it does not work properly anymore, and that particular template does not even show anymore.

I hope you can help, because this is quite annoying as it is my company's website.

    Hi Ecollot,

The issues you’re having with Smart Slider 3 are as a result of the Image Map Pro plugin. It’s not that it’s conflicting with Smart Slider 3, it’s covering the slider which in turn is preventing it from being interacted with.

I suspect the issue with the Huge IT slider is that Automatically add Paragraphs is enabled in the SiteOrigin Editor. if that’s the case, please disable it as it typically interferes with sliders.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

So, I just checked out what you told me. The intereference with the Huge
IT slider was corrected when unchecking Automatically add Paragraphs.
Good to know that it can be an issue with sliders! Nevertheless, I don't understand why the problem would suddenly arise when I've never had a problem up to now.

For the issue with Smart Slider 3, I've had both plugins on this page,
in this particular order, for a while now without any problem. Any idea on how I could solve the issue then ?

    Best regards,

    Hi Ecollot,

Nevertheless, I don’t understand why the problem would suddenly arise when I’ve never had a problem up to now

The most likely reason is that you’ve only just recently updated the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle or accidentally ticked this setting. It’s not as a result of a SiteOrigin Editor widget change as this widget hasn’t been adjusted in over 4 months. Alternatively, if you hadn’t previously added this shortcode to a SiteOrigin Editor widget this wouldn’t have been noticeable.

in this particular order, for a while now without any problem. Any idea on how I could solve the issue then ?

I’m unsure. I would recommend taking a look at your settings if there’s a setting as why this may be happening. I would also recommend temporarily disabling the Map Pro plugin to verify this is the case.
