    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kstny,

Do you happen to use a Theme Trust or a Think Up Theme? Both use forks (a version based on our code but not actively developed by us) of SiteOrigin Page Builder so if you are, we’re unable to help you due to the version differences. We recommend contacting your theme developer directory.

If this isn’t the case please ensure you’re using the latest version of SiteOrigin Page Builder, and if you are, do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    hi Alex…thanks for replying!.. :)

i am using Teseract, which i’ve been using for over a year…

my sites r all up and functioning!… http://www.kstny.com

i last updated a couple of weeks ago, everything was fine, i went today, and the problem.. :(

here’s a screen shot of my back end…

above the editor box to the right, the TextEditor/PageBuilder Tabs that the mouse is on, PageBuilder darkens when i scroll over it, but i doesn’t go it into, it just stays at the text editor…

    the second screen shot…

the Visual/Text Tabs to the left of the top of the editor, work, but again it stays in the editor and not to the graphic Page BuilderScreenshot (46)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kstny,

Hm. That’s not the typical interface. It’s possible you have a different version enabled. For reference, here’s the typical button to go to the Page Builder tab.

Regardless, this sounds like a plugin conflict issue (trust me, it can happen out of nowhere). Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

If the above doesn’t help, you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kstny,

Based on the last screenshot you sent me this is likely a JavaScript error, which when it happens the entire website tends to fall over in terms of usability of JavaScript generated elements (read: Page Builder). This means it’s not exactly a conflict, more of a general issue with a script in that plugin. For that, you’ll want to contact the developers. It’s likely honestly something very small.

If you would like me to confirm this is the case you’ll need to create me temporary admin account so I can log in and take a look at the affected pages. You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Alex…

THANKS so much for ur help!…

for, now, i have to get thee sites update, and i wasted all day yesterday on this problem, so i’m just going to work around it by deactivation the plug-in, updating the site and re-activating the plug-in… :)

one last question; in ur humble opinion, is this a specific mutation of code on my machine – or – that can’t happen, it was from a Site Origin/Smash Balloon update, and it’s happening elsewhere, and one or both companies will eventually hear and fix it?

    again, thanks, Gregg… :)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kstny,

To be honest, I’m not sure what the cause behind this issue is. Things can either break by mistake or just naturally break when new WordPress updates come out. For example, older versions of SiteOrigin Page Builder were broken in WordPress 4.5 until we applied a specific fix in how we display the Page Builder tab on the post screen.
