Hello

After a wordpress update my page builder stopped working.

I get an error if I try to add a row or widget this what the javascript console is telling:

load-scripts.php:401 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘prototype’ of undefined.

Anyone has an idea why.

I’m pretty desperate…

And also before that I tried to deactivate the plugin and when I reactive, everything is gone no more page builder tab in the already published pages

Thanks for any advice/help you can provide

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Thomas,

Do you happen to use a Theme Trust or a ThinkUpTheme? Both use forks (a version based on our code but not actively developed by us) of SiteOrigin Page Builder that have reported faults with the latest version of WordPress. We recommend directly contacting those theme developers if you’re using any of their themes that come bundled with a page builder.

Please ensure you’re using the latest version of SiteOrigin Page Builder installed. If you are, let’s try a plugin conflict test.

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Hello and thank you for your answer.

I have been kind of misguided by using the think up theme page builder.

I installed the origin one and it works fine.

I'm now confronted with the problem of some missing widget like the think up theme tinymce one.

Do you know if anyone has been able to transfer this widget to the origin page builder?

I have lots of articles and I fear that I have to redo everything.

So if you know any solution it would be great

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Thomas,

I wouldn’t say misguided. They had legitimate reasons to fork our plugin and we’re fine with that.

The problem here though is that they bundled their widgets directly into their fork. This means you technically can’t switch to the main version of the plugin without losing them. :(

To clarify, what are the main widgets you’re missing that you often use? You might be able to have a similar version by making use of the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. For example, we have a TinyMCE editor called the SiteOrigin Editor.

You will need to port your data over manually though so be sure to have a copy of the fork installed. Do not have both versions active at the same time – this will cause a very large error on your website.

Please note that the support I can provide regarding the fork is very limited. I can however help with the main version.

    Hello

    Thank's again for your answer.
My problem is that I have a lot articles to copy/paste.

Do you think waiting for them to release a stable update can be a solution ?

    thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Thomas,

If you wish to retain their widgets, you kind of have to. I would recommend asking them about a possible timeframe to see if there will be an update to resolve this anytime soon.

I personally wouldn’t, but that might not be a choice for you depending on how many of their widgets you’ve used.
