Page Builder problem on pages

I haven’t had a problem with SiteOrigin and page builder until today. Today, when I tried to use a pre-built layout, it shifted everything over to the right. So I started a brand new page and tried to just imitate the layout on my own and it then treated the layout like a post with the title of the page on the left and all my page elements on the right. I’ve messed with it all day and I cannot figure out how to undo or fix it. I’ve used these plugins for years and never had a problem. Dunno why now. Any help much appreciated! Pat.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alley,

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on?

I was helping a friend set up her website in WordPress. We couldn’t figure out why when we posted the pages it would flash a link about a post, but then it’d come up as a page as it should but it was formatted like a post on the template twenty seventeen. It looked like a blog layout instead of a page layout. I’ve used WordPress and SiteOrigin for years and never had that problem.

She has already changed the template and moved on. We couldn’t wait that long to get our site up and running. We are now using Shoreditch template and it seems to be doing OK.

On the original 2017, everything was shifted right. We tried using a template layout, and the features aren’t cooperating now, first they shift far right, then they shift on the left. You’ll recognize the SiteOrigin template, sorry I forgot its name. I’ve doubled checked the rows and cells for padding etc. All should be correct. I don’t know why hers don’t line up properly centered and wide across the page.

    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

oh and, when I make the row “cover” not “standard” and make the container size larger, the preview shows the size perfectly wide which is what we want, BUT, when we go back to the main page, it’s still all scrunched up together, and more on the left of the page than the center. I have no idea what is going on.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Alley,

The linked page is coming up as missing for me. Do I need an account to view it?

For reference, here are what the row layouts do:

Standard – uses the theme default structure for the row
Full Width – Full width of the page with a content container. This allows for full width backgrounds with content still centered.
Full Width Stretched – full width of the page, no content container.

what I don’t understand is why didn’t the hero siteorigin template come that way set up already

We don’t force full width stretched because not everyone wants the hero widget to be full width. We also try and avoid having widgets directly alter row structure or styling if we can help it to allow for a clear separation. Does that make sense?

I know but if the template comes a certain way, then it should be that way when we use it, right. Not shifted or different. I guess she has it on private. Thanks for your help. She went with another template so we could force the centeredness of the text. Thanks.
