Page Builder Plugin Text Widget doesn’t work anymore

Hey Guys your #PageBuilderWP Plugin doesn’t work anymore for me. The text/HTML widget isn’t editable. Do you have an idea? I have installed the latest Version of the Plugin and I am running my Page with the actual WordPress 4.8.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Lgw1899,

To clarify, what happens when you try and edit the text widget?

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Alex,

unfortunally this didn’t solve my problem. I have deactivated all plugins except the page builder and cleared the browser cache. The text-widget still doesn’t work… :-( When I try to edit it, then for a few seconds the load graphic appears but nothing more happens.

    Hi Lgw1899,

Can you please try opening the editor widget once more but when it fails to load, could you please send me the contents of your console? Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Lgw1899,

Thanks. While certain lines mention Violation (and other scary sounding stuff), they won’t result in causing this issue.
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Frank,

Thanks. I’ve had a quick look around and you’re actually using a really old version of SiteOrigin Page Builder. To clarify, did you install SiteOrigin Page Builder from WordPress.org or did your theme install it? I ask as the version number has been edited to avoid getting update alerts.

    Hi Alex,

I can’t remember exactly but I think it is possibly that the plugin is in combine with the happenstance premium theme.

As I saw just now, the theme isn’t supportet anymore. The website http://themes.tomastoman.cz/downloads/happenstance-premium/ is closed!

Can U fix it so that I can use the newest Version of the page builder plugin?

    Thanks Frank

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Frank,

Unfortunately, this isn’t something we can fix as this issue is as a result of the theme developer creating a fork of SiteOrigin Page Builder and basically not updating it (this is why we strongly recommend against this). Your best bet would be to try and move to the main plugin (which is an unedited version of our plugin) but please understand that you may lose theme specific widgets.

To do this, please create a backup of your website. Once you’ve backed up your website, please navigate to WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins and find and deactivate Page Builder by SiteOrigin, then delete it. Click Add New and search for and install Page Builder by SiteOrigin. Please see if everything worked as intended. Please understand that you may run into issues so be sure to check everything.

    Hi Alex,

I have done all the things. Now the newest version of your plugin is installed and it looks really different…:-)

Unfortunately I still can’t edit a text widget in my “startseite” page. The screen loads but the content of the widget is not showing.

Can U please have a look again?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Frank,

I suspect there’s another plugin left over by the theme that’s interfering with the main version of SiteOrigin Page Builder (likely expecting it to work exactly as the fork did).

    Hi Alex,

now it works fine! :-) I’ve deactivated all plugins except yours an page builder is editable. The I’ve activated every other plugin step by step and all still works. That is funny. But no matter, problem solved!

    Thank you very much!
