Page Builder not working – shows up as code only in backend

Been using pagebuilder for a year, lately it has started to lose its mind. Wait, no that’s me not PB. lol ;)

I build a page with pagebuilder, then save the page. Then on reload it shows up no longer as a page builder page but as just code in the text view (in the dashboard, page looks generally as it should in frontend.)

If I then re-activate the page in the builder it dumps everything into a single Editor widget losing all my ability to edit as I should.

I tried just rebuilding the page to no success.

I tried removing all but the site origin plugins and no success.

Not sure how to proceed to prevent this from happening?

Please help!

Thank you

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Todd

Really sorry to hear about the hassle.

If a conflict causes Page Builder to “fall over” into the Text/ tab, don’t save the page in that form. To recover you’d need to use the page Revision History or even consider a hosting roll-back if there is a problem with revisions.

This does sound like a plugin conflict. Please, could you try that test for me one more time. If you have a caching plugin active, clear the cache first, same with optimisation plugins and hosting level cache which can be in the top WordPress bar. Once cleared (if applicable), deactivate all plugins not authored by SiteOrigin. Check the issue, is it still the same? If so, switch to a default theme like Twenty Sixteen, check the issue again, any change?

Other things: run all pending updates at Dashboard > Updates.

    Thanks Andrew,

Is there a way within phpMyAdmin to just tweak the data to get it back as it should into Page Builder?

The site is 100% current on all themes, plugins, WordPress, etc. I run the same exact setup on about 25 other sites so not sure how this happens or what could fix it. I’ve looked at the revisions, but cannot see any difference between any of the revisions. Tried a few but none fix anything.

I use Hummingbird PRO for optimisation and cache.

Not really sure how to go about testing this. I mean, I was working on the page for over an hour to get it looking how I wanted and it all was great…then all of a sudden without warning it went bad.

    Hi, I Work Here

Thanks for the update. Really sorry to hear about the problem. If you go to another page running Page Builder, is the Page Builder tab operating normally? If not, please re-do the plugin conflict test. Clear your caching plugin, then deactivate it, then deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins, then re-check the testing page.

    Hi, I Work Here

If you’re perhaps able to take a look now, we could chat a bit more before I log off which is quite soon. If you’d like us to login and take a look, we can do that.
