Page Builder lost all content after loading database from a backup file

Hello,

My company just recently switched host providers. Because of such, we created a full backup of our server and uploaded that backup to our new server. While everything worked, the content within Page Builder did not carry over! You can see all of the content in the visual editor and the page builder “custom build” that we made is still in place, but all of the boxes are empty and don’t have content in them.

Please help as this is a huge loss for our company.. If we can’t find a way to fix this, we may have to stop using Page builder to prevent this from happening again in the future and we would hate to do that because page builder is awesome!

Thanks so much,

Visual i Creative

    Hi to all,

Getting the same problem in here, i just move my wordpress site to the root and lost all my pagebuilder formatation. My posts are all ok, since the code itself did not got lost, but the formatation on page builder (that is pretty important for my contributors to be able to perform modifications) are all gone.
Like Jeffrey9896 i also really like the plugin but this problem is getting kinda of a dealbreaker. There is anything that we can do?

    Tnx for the attention,

    Pedro

    Hi Jeffrey

Sorry to hear about this big hiccup you’re facing. Page Builder can unfortunately only migrate content via Tools > Import/Export OR the Duplicator plugin. I go over both methods in detail here:

    https://siteorigin.com/thread/id-like-to-move-my-website-thats-using-page-builder-whats-the-best-method/

If you still have access to your old site then the above info will be useful.

Actually Andrew you are wrong. I just tried both of the solutions you offered numerous times, and neither one works. Same result, empty pagebuilder content.

This is definitely a deal breaker for us. It means that we will never be able to restore any backups of our site that are needed.

Instead of telling us “Its not possible” could you please tell us WHY it is not possible?

    Thank you.
