I am hosting WP on google cloud GCP Virtual Machine. It does not have ftp. It requires SSH and key. Yes. I could WinSCP into it to upload. In this environment, how to install page builder ? Is there any manual way of configuration instead of having to give ftp credential during installation?

Hi Ishwara,
If you aren’t able to install SiteOrigin Page Builder directly through WordPress (WP AdminPluginsAdd New), you’ll need to use SSH and upload the plugin files manually. You can download SiteOrigin Page Builder by opening the SiteOrigin Page Builder plugin page.

I got it solved. I had to check the following. May be this could help other customers also:
Can I install only this plugin or any other plugin as well? In my case I could not.
Here were the two things I had to check:
1. Workpress administrator email ID should have credentials for Google cloud project (or any other cloud provider). For Google cloud, it is in IADMIN page.
If it is not possible to give project owner credential as wordpress administrator, your customers should create “service account” with right privileges and make that email ID as the wordpress admin.
2. Ubuntu Linux:
If the VM is on Ubuntu Linux, the following has to be added to wp-config.php:
define(‘FS_METHOD’, ‘direct’);
This may also be the case for localhost installation.
Hope this helps your other customers if similar question comes up.
