Hi, Folks.
Trying to use the “Page Builder” plug in for your “Focus Premium” theme, but cannot get it to install. Have deleted and attempted re-install twice to no avail. Suggestions? Error Message shown below:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class SiteOrigin_Panels_Widgets_Image in /home/content/p3nexnas05_data03/05/2091105/html/wp-content/plugins/siteorigin-panels/widgets/basic.php on line 211
Otherwise, the theme is working well.
Thanks,
Bob
Hi Bob
Focus does unfortunately see this error due to original bundling of Focus and Page Builder. Once Page Builder is installed click Activate, you’ll see the Fatal Error, go back and click Activate one more time. That usually does the trick.
Thanks for your reply, Andrew.
I’ve deleted, uploaded and attempted activation three times — all to no avail. I host my WP site at GoDaddy. Might that be an issue?
So to confirm, after clicking Activate on Page Builder and seeing the Fatal Error, you clicked Activate one more time and were still unsuccessful?
If this is the case please you try deleting the plugin and then deleting the siteorigin-panels folder from /wp-content/plugins/ via FTP and then repeating.
Hmmm…. no luck after carefully following your instructions.
But I learned a lot about getting FTP access to my site and its structure. A good learning lesson, but not what I was hoping for.
Your help is appreciated.
Please send through a set of temporary login details and your url to [email protected] and I’ll take a look ASAP.
Hi Bob
I believe this is a bug we had on older versions of Focus. You’re running 2.1.5, we’re now up to 2.1.12. The reason that no upgrade has been prompted is your order number hasn’t been inserted under Settings > General. I’ve added your order code and the update is now pending. Please can you update and re-try the problem and let me know how it goes.
Thanks.
Dear Andrew,
Thanks! That did it! Even though I had only installed Focus Premium within the last few days, I had the outdated version which created the problems.
So now I’m on to explore some more.
I appreciate your prompt and complete efforts to solve the problem. You’ve made me a much happier camper !
Bob
Sorry about that, I’ll look into what might have happened there. Glad we got it sorted.
