page builder elements not updating

Everything’s been working fine until last recently. Now, when I use the site-origin editor widget on any page of mine, and try to update the information, it doesn’t save. If I duplicate the box and try to edit it, same thing. I have to insert a new editor widget, and use that.

Also, the appearance has changed – there seems to be a menu missing. In the top right corner it says ‘revert to editor’ but if I”m not mistaken, before, I had at options to look at what I was working on in text format or in code format, which now is not available – I’m only seeing the code version.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Magiloucks,

Regarding the first issue, would it be possible for you to send me an export of this widget? To do this please open up the page in the editor and click the Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

Regarding your next paragraph. What version of SiteOrigin Page Builder were you previously using? I ask as Revert to Editor has been present for a number of years now. Hm. What actually, what version of the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle are you using? You can check this by navigating to WP AdminPluginsInstalled Plugins and find the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle – the version will be at the bottom of that plugin. Also, please clarify what version of Page Builder by SiteOrigin you’re using.

    Thanks for your response

    1) https://u.teknik.io/WErIl.json

    2) the bundle 1.11.8; page builder 2.7.0

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Magiloucks,

Thanks. I don’t see any issues with the provided layout in both code and usage. Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

FYI, another thing that happens is if I create a post in page builder, and then ‘revert to editor’, it’s all in html code.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Magiloucks,

Regarding your last reply, that’s correct. The HTML you’re seeing is the fallback code – it’s meant to allow for a very basic version of the page to still work even when SiteOrigin Page Builder is inactive.

I didn’t know how else to send it to you. I’m getting two emails from you each time that link to the same space, so I just posted it. It’s now deleted. How do I send you the private information then?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Magiloucks,

I’ve had a look around and I can’t seem to find the page you exported. Can you please link me to the specific page you’re having issues with?

  13. 6 years, 2 months ago magiloucks

IT’s the whole site, all the pages with those widgets.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Magiloucks,

    Very sorry for the delay.

I’ve run a few tests (created a test page, edited a few widgets – I reverted these edits) and I can’t seem to replicate this issue. Can you please outline a change you’ve attempted that didn’t work?

  15. 6 years, 2 months ago magiloucks

1 Any changes I make to any widget in any page do not stick. They do not save.!they do not change. I don’t know how else to explain this.

2 the tabs I mentioned previously are clearly missing. How else to explain that?

3 when I revert to tabs with the sole remaining tab, everything is in html, not text, so it’s impossible to see formatting.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Magiloucks,

    1. I understand what you’re saying, but I cannot replicate this issue on your website. Please try editing the test page I created.

    2. Tabs? I can’t seem to find any mention of tabs so I’m unsure what you mean. Hm. Can you please show me a screenshot of what you’re seeing when you try and edit the page? Please note that we’re currently unable to process attachments so you’ll need to upload the screenshot to a third party image hosting site like Imgur or vgy.me.

    3. Ideally, please do not click Revert to Editor unless you plan on no longer using SiteOrigin page Builder on that page. This is because the Page Builder to WordPress conversion is imperfect (and vice-versa) so certain elements may be lost.

Regardless, it sounds like Visual Editor is disabled. Please navigate to WP AdminUsersYour Profile and ensure Visual Editor is unticked.
