Page builder doesn’t work with WP Blog page

7 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 7 years ago

Hi,

I designed my blog page with site origin page builder. When finished, I went to WP settings and marked it as “blog page”.

When I did, all the design made with the page builder disappears and there is only the entries in plain text.

If I unmark again the page, the page will show again as I designed it with the page builder.

It seems that marking the page as “blog page” causes page builder not to appear or do anything

How can I fix it?

Thanks in advance

Pedro

    Hi Pedro

No content is rendered on the Blog page, Page Builder or otherwise. To show content on the assigned page, go to Settings > Reading and deselect your Blog page as your Posts Page, make sure no page is selected. If you’re using a SiteOrigin theme, you can use the Post Loop widget to display posts. If not, try the Blog widget contained in Widgets for SiteOrigin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-for-siteorigin/. You can also use the Carousel widget in the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle to pull posts.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for your quick answer, Andrew

I was afraid that if I don’t mark any page as blog page, my blog is not going to work properly in WP.

In all the tutorials it is said that you should mark a front page and then a blog page, so I thought this is mandatory, isn’t it? Can I run my blog in WP without setting a blog page in WP settings?

It isn’t mandatory. All the Posts Page setting does it output your posts. Using a widget you can do that yourself. If you’d like to output other content on the blog page then it’s what you’d need to do.
