Page Builder Causing White Screen of Death

I need someone to help me out.

I have a new WordPress website that I have been working on for the first few days. Page Builder by SiteOrigin was my ideal tool for the customizations. Everything has been working fine. However earlier today, I felt that I needed to create a login portal whereby other users could access the website. To achieve this, I installed Theme My Login plugin and went ahead to enable it after I had activated the plugin. I then refreshed my page to view any changes that the plugin had made. I realized that all my previous customizations had been overridden by the plugin which sought to create a login area on my homepage. I immediately disabled it the plugin and deactivated it.

Upon refreshing my page, I was shocked to meet head-on with what I later came to know as the ‘White Screen of Death‘. Initially, I thought that Theme My Login plugin was the cause of all that. I accessed my hosting and deleted the plugin page from WP_content. However, the white screen still remained. I decided to check all plugins and I realized that the white screen error was being caused by Page Builder.

I just wanted to know if there were any changes that Theme My Login could have made that affected the functionality of Page Builder. Currently, I’m stuck not knowing what to do, because the site looks ugly without the customizations that I had done using Page Builder.

Someone help me out.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Samson,

I’m not aware of any changes that Theme My Login could have caused that could have resulted in this issue.

Can you try following our general WordPress plugin troubleshooting guide? From the sounds of things, this might fix your issue. Here’s a video on the process:

The first thing to check is server-side caching through plugins like W3 Total Cache, WP Super Cache, etc. If you have any of these caching/performance plugins installed, try clearing their cache and see if that helps.

It might also be browser cache. Try clearing your browser cache, and then refreshing the page to see if that helps.

You can read more about this sort of issue on the WordPress codex.

Next, you can try running a plugin conflict text. You can start by disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
