Page Builder by SiteOrigin causes 404 pages on secondary wpml language pages

8 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 8 years ago

I’ve bought the WP theme “Off the Shelf” by ShapingRain.com. This theme uses “Page Builder by SiteOrigin”.

I have a site with two domains: gdpr-logger.com and gdpr-logger.dk. The problem is that “Page Builder by SiteOrigin” is giving me 404 ERROR pages for either 2nd level or 3 level urls:

In the native site language (english), the follwoing urls work fine:

https://gdpr-logger.com/products/
https://gdpr-logger.com/products/gdpr-logger-for-ibm-notes/

In dansh:

https://gdpr-logger.dk/produkter/
https://gdpr-logger.dk/produkter/gdpr-logger-for-ibm-notes-dk/

My problem is that in danish i get a 404 on either one of the pages:

If the permalinks are set up as https://gdpr-logger.com/%postname%/ only this page works: https://gdpr-logger.dk/produkter/ but not https://gdpr-logger.dk/produkter/gdpr-logger-for-ibm-notes-dk/

If the permalinks are set up as https://gdpr-logger.com/%category%/%postname%/only this page works: https://gdpr-logger.dk/produkter/gdpr-logger-for-ibm-notes-dk/ but not https://gdpr-logger.dk/produkter/

I need to be able to make 2nd, 3rd and 4th level links in both languages.

It seems like it is the “Page Builder by SiteOrigin” plug-in messing up my site.
My problem is that this plug-in is required by the theme.

I’ve read that there has been some problems between wpml and “Page Builder by SiteOrigin” before: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/wpml-doesnt-work-with-page-builder-by-siteorigin/

Do You know if there is any fix?

    Hi Christian,

I’ve looked at your linked pages and none of the linked pages appear to be 404ing. Did you manage to fix this issue?
I would recommend giving this document a quick read as it’ll explain how to use WPML together with SiteOrigin Page Builder.
