Hi,
Following yesterday’s update, our Page Builder button in ‘Edit Page’ loads to an empty section as if the page was empty.
The pages have content previously built using Page Builder & visible using the ‘Text’ option.
I’ve deactivated ALL other plugins, deactivated & reactivated Page Builder & Widgets but no change, every time we select Page Builder it’s like we’re building a brand new page
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Hi Steve,
To clarify, are you using the revert to editor button? If you are, you shouldn’t. This functionality is only intended to be used if you plan on no longer using SiteOrigin Page Builder on that page anymore.
If this isn’t the case, could you please clarify what you mean by this line?
> The pages have content previously built using Page Builder & visible using the ‘Text’ option.
Also, would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget and click layout. Then click import / export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.
Hi Alex,
Thank you for your reply.
It is as if someone has gone through the entire site and hit the ;revert to editor’ button, but this is not the case.
If this isn’t the case, could you please clarify what you mean by this line?

We built the site using Page Builder, the html is visible under the ‘text’ tab (in page edit), despite nothing loading in the ‘page builder’ tab and the ‘visual’ tab doesn’t do anything.
The widget export you request simply contains:
{“widgets”:[],”grids”:[],”grid_cells”:[]}
If I create a new page in page builder, it retains it’s page builder status, allowing me to edit it, save, revisit and repeat, just all the original pages now load empty in page builder.
Hope that makes sense.
Thank you again for your reply.
Regards
Steve
Hi Steve,
Ah, okay. I misread what you stated and read it as you pressing revert to the editor – sorry about that! Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

Thanks Alex,
I’ve just added you as a user, hopefully you will have received the email.

Hi Steve,
Could you check the email? Typically the email gets send instantly and if takes longer than a few minutes it, something went wrong. To clarify, you’ll know when we receive the email as you’ll be emailed about it also.
Maybe, set the password and send it in a private reply? To make a private reply, simply tick “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box. Email replies are NOT private.

Hi Alex,
I deleted the user account and created it again, did you get the relevant email?
Or, are you able to do a forgotten password on the user account?
Thanks
Steve
Hi Steve,
Thanks – got it.
Oddly, I’m able to use SiteOrigin Page Builder without issue, but with that said, I can see what may be causing this issue.
For whatever reason, your website is rejecting access to wp-tinymce.php.
Do you have any security settings that may prevent this file from being useable? Be it a plugin, or a server setting (check with your hosting provider)?
It’s also possible there’s a permission issue with the file. I would recommend checking that wp-includes/js/tinymce.php has the either 644 or 640. You may need to ask your hosting provider for help with this.
You could try enabling SCRIPT_DEBUG – that’ll require editing wp-config.php. You may need to ask your hosting provider for help with this.
Many thanks Alex,
The permissions all appeared to be in order so I focussed on security settings.
We have Sucuri Security installed which I had deactivated as part of this process. I now have it activated again but have disabled the ‘hardening’ of wp-includes folders and the editor is operational again now. Strange that deactivating it altogether doesn’t sort this.
It still doesn’t give us any content back in the ‘page builder’ but at least we can make amends and over time return the relevant pages to page builder.
Thank you for your help.
Regards
Steve
