Hello I use your Page Builder by SiteOrigin plugin on two different sites and have recently noticed the plugin is broken. I have the most up-to-date versions of the plugin and WordPress on both sites. The issue is when I go in to edit several of the objects such as Text blocks are blank and if I save the page it deletes the content. This happens on both sites I use Page Builder on.
It has also messed up some of the layouts of my site as well when using Text or Enhanced Text blocks and other widgets. I have already attempted to disconnect all other plugins to test for conflicts and neither site had any and the Page Builder plugin still did not work with them all deactivated. Please advise on what else could be causing this problem.
Hello any help available?
Hi Jim,
I’m not too sure on why this issue is occurring. Can you please navigate to WP Admin > User > Your Profile and ensure Visual Editor is unticked? If that doesn’t help, to confirm, did you disable all non-SiteOrigin plugins to see if this helped?
If it didn’t help, can you please try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related?
Are both of these websites hosted on the same server?
Hello
Here are the links to the websites
http://www.focuspos.com/ (1 and 1 hosting)
http://www.focusca.com/ (Amazon hosting)
Both use the Maestro WordPress theme. I tried disabling the theme and all plugins on both sites and neither action fixed the problem.
Hi Jim,
Can you please highlight an area that has been affected by the update? Due to my unfamiliarity of your website I’m not too sure what should and shouldn’t be.
The problem is when I go in to edit pages on each website the Text widgets and such from the page editor are blank. If I save it then I lose all content on the existing pages. This happens when editing all pages on both sites.
Hi Jim,
Ah. Is the Visual Editor disabled for your account? Please navigate to WP AdminUsersYour Profile and ensure Visual Editor is unticked.
No it is not disabled for either account.
Hi Jim,
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account on one of the sites so we can log in and take a look?
This is a private message.
Doing it now. Thanks.

why is it posted here for the world to see?
Hi Jim,
Don’t worry, only you and staff members are able to see the email.
Hi Jim,
This may sound like an odd question but, does this issue only occur with the Cr: Text block widget? I ask as that’s not actually our widget so we’re not too familiar with why you may be having this issue. What plugin adds that widget?
Hi Jim,
I can confirm all of your text is still visible to SiteOrigin Page Builder, it’s just not being displayed by the plugin itself. Does this issue happen with new instances of this widget or just old instances?
It happens in new ones once I save them and leave the page. When I return it is gone again. As for the Cr: Text block I assumed that was part of the SiteOrigin Page Builder as I did not build this site I just inherited it to maintain.
I have researched everything about this I can with no luck.
Hi Jim,
Our text widget is called SiteOrigin Editor – sorry mate. :(
I would recommend running a plugin conflict test to work out what plugin is adding Cr: Text widget. This is not to suggest this is a plugin conflict, only that this test is a good idea of working out what plugin is adding what.
For reference, here are our recommended plugin conflict test steps:
Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
