Hello.
I am building an e-commerce site using WooCommerce, the WooCommerce shortcode plugin, Woo’s Canvas theme and Page Builder. I am only using Page Builder on the static pages and only pages setting is selected in the Page Builder Settings menu.
The WooCommerce shortcodes are normally selected from a dropdown menu on the TinyMCE visual editor, but when Page Builder is activated for the pages, that shortcode dropdown disappears from both the TinyMCE editor and the editor in Black’s Studio TinyMCE Editor. Deactivate Page Builder and the drop down menu reappears in the TinyMCE visual editor. So there is an issue between Page Builder and the WooCommerce shortcode plugin.
My workaround is to go to a post and use the dropdown menu there to get the shortcode I need. The shortcodes generated work normally when I use put them in a widget like the Black’s editor or the Enhanced Text Widget , so making them work properly is not an issue. I just want to the dropdown menu back into the visual editor.
Is there fix for this? Have you dealt with this issue before? I can’t find it if you have.
Hey Dave
Thanks for taking the time to report. This is, as far as I know, the first report of this. My local testing shows the same results. I can however access the shortcodes drop down within the Visual Editor widget added to the sidebar widget area with Page Builder on and off. That’s the exception though.
I’ll log this now, hopefully Woo will be able to attend.
Thanks again for the help.
Hi, Andrew,
Thanks for the reply.
Interesting it shows up in the sidebar widget area using Visual Editor. Looking forward to a solution. Have a good weekend, or what’s left of it on your side of the world.

It’s strange for sure. I logged this a little earlier. Greg will take a look as soon as he’s able.
Thanks again for bringing this up.
Chat soon.
Cheers :)
Thanks again Andrew.
Hey it’s late in your corner of the globe, go to bed, get some sleep. Or at least have a beer.
Andrew,
Hello. Any progress on this issue?
Hi Dave
Thanks for the bump on this. Greg did a quick test now. So did I. I can view the shortcodes drop down in the regular Visual tab when Page Builder is activate but Black Studio and the Widgets Bundle are de-activated. Once I activate those two (Black Studio + Widgets Bundle) I lose the drop down. This is before venturing over to the Page Builder tab.
Greg’s feedback is that it has something to do with the way these plugins are initializing TinyMCE.
So, unfortunately, no progress for now. We’ll try look into this in conjunction with the new SiteOrigin Editor widget and see if we can’t get it working there.
Sorry I don’t have better news. Thanks for reminding me about this issue.
Thanks for the follow up, Andrew.
For sure. Thanks for your understanding.
Andrew, Hello.
Is there any follow up on this? Having those drop down menus in the Tiny MCE editor would be good.
Hi Dave, good to hear from you. When I test today it seems like the drop-down works ok if I deactivate Black Studio TinyMCE. If I do that, the shortcodes drop-down works in both the regular WordPress Visual tab and the SiteOrigin Editor Visual tab. Can you perhaps confirm my test results?
Andrew, hello and sorry I am so late on this. I missed your reply completely and kind of forgot about it because of the Thanksgiving holiday here in the States.
Yes, disabling Black Studio TinyMCE and using the SiteOrigin Editor instead works exactly as it should. The WooCommerce drop down returns.
I used the Visual Composer because the SiteOrigin Editor had an issue with some inline html I was using. It just would not render it correctly, if I remember correctly. Use the Visual Editor and the html worked as it should. That also seems to have gone away, so it’s all good.
Thanks for you help, Andrew.
Perfect, we’ll take that small win :) All the best with the rest of your year. Chat soon. Cheers.
Thanks Andrew, same to you and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
And I don’t care what Pippin says, I like PageBuilder and will continue to use it! So there.
And to you too!
Ahh, thanks for that. Not our finest review hour, we carry on though. We appreciate your support. Cheers :)
